Description

Ink seeps through the brush, slowly spreading across the hanji with an uncertain flow and direction. The paper, holding the ink, sways gently in the wind. What once soaked the surface now lifts with the breeze, subtly tinting the air with its scent. A deep aroma, like the lingering trace of charred wood, feels light and fresh when carried by the wind. Monotone. Black and white in stark contrast. Yet still, something blurred, something slowly bleeding at the edges. It moves with weight, while leaving behind the lightest, most unpredictable traces. Dyed is a tribute to the East Asian tradition of making inksticks for art and calligraphy from a blend of burned pine soot and natural binders, a process which infuses the finished product with a weighty, smoky aroma. The fragrance draws on this deep, charred woodsiness, contrasting it with the brightness of fresh citrus, a hint of savory walnut, and refreshing notes of fresh pine and clean, herbal eucalyptus. The result is a uniquely compelling and sparsely beautiful fragrance that balances darkness and light; the scent of ink on parchment, drying in the afternoon breeze. With top notes of inkstick, lemon and  lime; middle notes of cypriol, walnut, eucalyptus, pine, jasmine and rose; and base notes of cedarwood, patchouli and musk. Dyed is an eau de parfum, edp.

CONCRETED DYED REVIEWS

Fragrantica: "Dyed smells like freshly dried calligraphic ink on paper. It's a very unique scent."

LuckyScent: "This perfume literally smells like some of the inks i use for my fountain pens. It's this very dry yet somehow powdery (someone else said dusty and i think that can also be used here) note that just elicits so much nostalgia for me after years of collecting. Starts out citrussy and ends up musky, but the ink scent remains throughout. Dries down to a skin scent after four or five hours but is eternal on my skin after that."

LuckyScent: "Smells so much like ink. The scent hits the back of your throat and the animalic musk is very cloying and forward. Starts really sharp and citrusy/eucalyptus-y but dries down to a woody animalic scent. Smells almost dusty on the dry down. Gets the tiniest bit sweet and floral once it finally dries down... almost leathery? Extremely interesting... I can't say I will buy a full bottle, but it's the most interesting scent I've tried from Concreted. It really transports you to a certain time and place through that ink note."
