From the brand - "Baroque music has been a fixture in my life since I was very young. Many a morning did I jolt awake to Royal Fireworks or Lully’s Te Deum. When we were kids, my sister & I hated it. But in college I fell hard for Classical Music. It has become a constant in the background of my life. I like to think about the wild soirees that must have gone down at the court of Louis the Sun King: Bacchanal bliss with baroque tunes that now sound quite prim & proper. We need to start having parties like that again. Get out on the danse parquet and let your powdered wig down to vivacious viola de gamba grooves. It’s baroque, baby! You get on the subway & get off at Versailles."
"What would a 300 year old cognac barrel cracked open on the F train smell like?- D.S."
D.S. & Durga Cognac Reign Reviews
Fragrantica - "I’ve never encountered such a distinctive take on bergamot. The caramelized note greets you warmly, opening the door to the rest of the fragrance. A touch of aged dust mingles with boozy cognac, while orris ties everything together with a vintage ribbon. It’s the ballroom of an aristocrat’s palace. Powdered wigs bopping around and footsteps echoing across varnished parquet floors."
Fragrantica - "The fresh bergamont zaps over quickly on the opening and filters into the aged wood and orris powder realm. A boozy smooth layer right into some soft oak, but still holding onto the orris. The limo oak really holding the middle lane, and in fact is my favorite scent structure in this oldactory journey. Ends with hint of the tonka and almost a grass/oak blend - a scent reminiscence of sundown in a desert is the first thought to describe. Very pleasant. Unisex scent that leans feminine upon opening, but evens out to an 50/50 unisex fragrance, in my opinion."
