Description

D.S. & Durga Pistachio was launched in 2022, created by David Seth Moltz.  Originally a Studio Juice, it became a part of the permanent line in 2022.  Notes of pistachio, cardamom, more pistachio, roasted almond, patchouli and vanilla creme.

From the brand - "I think pistachio is an elegant nut. Also a fun nut. It's around good climes and everyone seems to dig it. We made this on a whim; a fragrance with no story that just evokes the fun of pistachio (especially as a dessert flavor). It was a STUDIO JUICE (limited edition of 100 bottles). People went nuts for the concept (pun somewhat intended) and we knew we had to add it to the line. It's dank & unabashedly sweet which is something I don’t normally do."

This is an eau de parfum, edp.

D.S. & Durga was founded in 2007 in Brooklyn, NY by David Seth Moltz (D.S.) and Kavi Ahuga (Durga). They create scents in small batches exclusively in house.  They tell stories through scent of people and times in history.

Reviews of D.S. & Durga Pistachio

Fragrantica - "Based on the notes being all pistachio, I expected something more linear and straightforward. I also expected something super sweet. It's kind of sweet, but more dry. The pistachio is prominent at the top but things change rather quickly. There is a ton of vanilla and some woods in this as well that give the fragrance a soft powdery-woody backbone with some spice including cardamom. I don't think I've smelled anything like it."

Fragrantica - "DS & Durga, you got me good with this one- of course, I should've known better than to think "Pistachio" was going to be a gourmand in the hands of David Seth Moltz! This is the antithesis of a gourmand- not an ounce of sweet, confectionary pistachio for miles. What this bottle holds is a savory roasted pistachio with a huge initial blast of patchouli. The previous review mentioned a medicinal quality, and I'd certainly agree with that- I do get a fleeting aromatic, aftershave note. While the opening would normally be way too much patchouli for me, the combination of notes leaves behind a rather unique and pleasant dry down- an earthy, slightly herbal skin scent- which I definitely see myself wearing on the right occasions. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this also pairs delightfully well with vanilla and rose forward perfumes, too! I can confidently say I've never come across anything like this pistachio, but it is really a masterpiece in its own right."

Fragrantica - "Absolutely delectable, but by no means a gourmand pistachio ice cream or macaron. This is a meaty, oily unisex scent with salt, sweetness, and a medicinal kick. Though the notes cheekily list only pistachio, I think I’m picking up patchouli as a base note. It’s an incredible performer and is unique but entirely wearable. I loved it on a warm spring SoCal day and am so happy I was able to pick up a bottle!"
