Description

Rum Bay Rum is a limited edition fragrance. A hug from the old world! Bay Rum softened with sandalwood, lime, & linden. Rum Bay Rum is a classic bay rum I've been sitting on since 2008. A DSD team member reminded me of it last year. We dug it out of the archive and realized this soft, spicy bay rum that lasts was needed in the world today! Many men aspire to dress like their grandpa and wear the colognes he would have worn. With a top note of West Indian bay, a middle note of linden, and a base note of sandalwood. It is an eau de parfum.

D.S. & DURGA RUM BAY RUM REVIEWS

Fragrantica: This is an amazing and versatile fragrance that’s both unique and mass appealing. The fragrance reminds me of a mamajuana, a drink I had from the Dominican Republic that combines spices and wood in a glass bottle, with rum added as desired. Similarly this fragrance doesn’t have rum accord, but the scents leave a “rum shaped hole” that my mind fills in. The smell starts with a bay leaf, cloves and sandalwood, as the bay leaf goes it is replaced with a warm rose smell that fits in with the sandalwood. This scent is a spicy woody one that can be dressed up or down, lasts on my sweaty summer skin for several hours and projects a few feet out.

Fragrantica: Tested this today and I’m a fan. I might disagree with some reviewers, as I do get the bay rum and spices with some sweetness. They’re just blended and balanced well with the other notes, which I expect from this type of perfume house and look for in a wearable unique scent. If I was mostly getting classic bay rum, I wouldn’t appreciate it as much. Give it a shot.

Fragrantica: Not the classic-style Bay Rum I was expecting. Instead, it’s coniferous, piney, balsamic, sweet, and cinnamon-spicy. As it dries down, the base somewhat reminds me of a brighter Amber Teutonic—a fitting connection, given it’s from the same perfumer and features the same sappy opopanax note. The name might set up the wrong expectation, but it’s the juice inside that counts—it’s a lovely fragrance on its own terms: spicy, resinous and gently sweet.
