Dior Oud Ispahan is part of the Orientals Collection. These evocative and intense fragrances evoke scenes from an Oriental dream. It was created by perfumer Francois Demachy. Christian Dior loved the Orient - the color, the smells - and he incorporated that into his designs. Francois Demachy has this to say about the fragrance: "Oud Ispahan is like opening the doors of an Oriental palace with ochre walls and being struck by its fragrance. The smoky scent of burning wood blends with that of sweet floral water on washed hands. That's the scent of this smooth atmosphere, where rose, frankincense and resin linger. The perfume is velvety and sensual, like the roses of the Orient."
Oud Ispahan features a top note of labdanum absolute, a middle note of patchouli essence from Indonesia and bottom notes of oud essence from Laos, rose essence from Turkey and sandalwood essence from New Caledonia for a warm, spicy reinterpretation of Eastern locales. It is an eau de parfum, edp.

It’s a westernised version of a typical classic oud perfume, a perfect scent for occasions. Definitely one of my favourites."
From Bois de Jasmin - "The amber with its honeyed sweetness plays up against the earthy patchouli and warm resins. It smells of tree sap, Indian sandalwood beads and incense. Some oud accords smell so medicinal to me that they end up being repulsive, but Dior’s oud is mild and velvety.
