Love this perfume
The original azuree from 1969 is a very interesting perfume. I smell leather and musk, very woodsy. But as you wear it the smell changes. Its not for everyone, but its one of my fav.
Estee Lauder Azuree was originally created in 1969 by Mme Lauder herself, Azuree is a chypre fragrance evoking the sensual, sunny charm of the Cote d'Azur. A sensual reinterpretation of the original Azuree fragrance was inspired by the blue of the Mediterranean near Mrs. Estee Lauder's vacation home in Cap d'Antibes, off the coast of France. The scent is radiant and earthy, with the subtle tang of citrus as if carried in from a neighboring orange grove. The feeling is light and sunlit, with a rich warmth. Azuree is an eau de parfum, edp. This is the current version of Estee Lauder Azuree.

Fragrantica: "If you want to stand out and you like a fresh, green, earthy smell, this is for you."
Fragrantica: "It starts with quite a bright opening of citrus and a little of the herbal notes. Nothing bitter, just fresh and delightful. Then it develops a subtle floral sweetness, gradually growing more powdery but not losing the sharp freshness from the opening."

I sampled three fragrances that sounded warm and woody. This one comes across on me as too floral. It is a nice scent but doesn't do what I wanted. Being able to try it in a sample was wonderful.
