Filippo Sorcinelli Unum But Not Today launched in 2018 inspired by Ridley Scott's file "Hannibal" and landed in our Oddball Fragrances that may smell like it belongs Crime Scene Tape. It has notes of artemisa, lavender, lemon, bergamot, calamus, styrax, rosemary, cascarilla, angelica, galbanum, oak moss, musk, resin, amber and sandalwood.
Created by Filippo Sorcinelli, it is described on the website as: "Inspired by Ridley Scott’s film, Hannibal, shot mostly in Florence, it is synaesthetically [sic] focused on the moment in which Hannibal Lecter addresses a question to Clarice: “Would you say to me: Stop, if you love me stop?” One runs looking for elegance, art, hating the mediocrity of human [sic], arriving to extreme and insane points against “rude and unsophisticated people” or who in some way could upset the Universal Beauty. The other one runs among the cold and impersonal choices of her life, falling in love with an institution who never will repay its adept. Just like seeing and believing, joys and suffering, tracing an infinite ideal by thought to love without borders and without restrictions... in a race that enhances this harmony. Forever.." Filippo Sorcinelli Unum But Not Today is an extrait de parfum.
Filippo Sorcinelli Unum But Not Today REVIEWS
Fragrantica - "on it's own it's quite unwearable. i wouldn't say it smells somewhere at least near as those tiktok reviewers describe it (blood, meat and disturbance). it smells like grass, like a wild eastern european countryside, like a barn. for me it is only wearable if to layer it with Margiela's "from the garden". 2 sprays of But not today as base and 3-5 sprays of From the garden on top. Margiela will soften the sharp grassy notes and will add a bit of depth in this combination. as well the name for this fragrance was chosen really nice even not knowing the backstory with the movie. everytime i come to my parfumes shelf and take a look at this fragrance, i think of myself "well one day i will wear it again... but not today" NOT BLIND BUY SAFE"
Fragrantica - "It's been a couple of months with subsequent wears & I'm loving it more ! It's a very interesting perfume & that's coming from me, who can't stand animalics. It's just the backstory, the presentation, that created a horror element, but it's not like that. It's very wearable, just try it in real. No animalics, nothing blood-like, just some unusual greens like calamus & cascarilla, brought an alien element. Past the slightly musty opening, it soon transforms into a great ambery citrus. I find it both sexy & edgy."
Fragrantica - "Smells like walking into a very old dusty incense shop haha. Im not very good at picking out scents in perfume, but I loved the more earthy/spiced scents. I dont really understand the negative reviews or those saying it smells like meat. Just smells old and herbal. Either way definitely try a sample, 9.7/10."
Fragrantica - "What an interesting perfume. From a strictly perfumery point of view, I think this is rather successful in what it sets out to do. As someone who works in a the medical field, I'm very familiar with the smell of blood and I do certain smell it in the back here. It's buried in the back of the greenness of galbanum and angelica but it's there. It's rather animalic too (styrax?) and kinda smoky (calamus, most likely). The man is definitely quite a character but a lot of the stuff I've tried I really enjoy. This one I thought I couldn't wear honestly but it's not bad at all, you just have to be ready for a very green and herbal scent with metallic overtones. It doesn't last that long but it's very volatile and airy, I can smell it in the air for a few hours when I move around. Spring is the season for it I would say, because of the greenness and herbal elements. Because the muskiness is very "furry", I just can picture a werewolf with this fragrance. A lot more than the Hannibal Lecter reference, to be honest. Fur, blood and greenness. Still surprisingly wearable if you're into unconventional fragrances (which I am)."
Fragrantica - "Very disturbing scent..."
