Description

Frederic Malle Dans tes Bras translates to "In Your Arms". It is a woody, floral musk fragrance for men and women, launched in 2008, created by the amazing Maurice Roucel.  Notes of Bergamot, clove, violet, jasmine, sandalwood, patchouli, salicylates, incense, Cashmeran (a mix of musk, woods and resin), heliotrope and white musk.

Reviews of Frederic Malle Dans tes Bras

From EauMG - "Roucel went on a mission to create a fragrance that reminds one of warm skin. And he succeeded."

From Perfume Posse - " DtB starts off very rooty and earthy, the dirt elements of woods and iris.  There’s some hints of musk, but it stays right in that very gorgeous dirt smell for a long time.  There are hints of the other notes floating around, thought I get more violet early on, and the incense and musk embellish the composition... It is different, knows what it is, and isn’t afraid."

From Grain de Musc - "I’m still no nearer to feeling any familiarity with it, or rather: to taming its low-key otherness. It does smell familiar. But not like anything I’ve met in a bottle.

From Now Smell This - "The early stages are strong, peppery-earthy violet; later, it's softer and earthier still, and the violet gradually gives way to a very salty heliotrope over vague musky woods (it reportedly features an "overdose" of the cashmeran note). Several hours in, it comes very close to its inspiration: it smells like dirty skin — not sweaty, really, just dirty, that is, skin with dirt on it, and possibly with the remnants of the violet perfume you'd applied earlier in the day."

From Bois de Jasmin - "The initial illusion of a mild caress is fleeting, however. At first, I was not prepared that Dans Tes Bras’s next turn would take me into much more passionate territory. The spices smolder under the violet petals, turning them dark and rich. The opulent musk that occupies a territory between woods and ambers–Cashmeran of the marketing copy–adds its sonorous timbre."

    I Like It

This one's an odd little duck. It's not a skin scent but it does stay close to you. Each time I wear it I like it a bit more. It has a gentle, soothing effect which is especially good in this interesting year of 2020. I will probably get a decant when my sample is done and play with it some more.

    Clean 1970's Throwback

Dans Tes Bras reminds me very much of Patou 1000 edp mixed with some kind of soap, like dial or Ivory (in a good way). I wore it today and got an, "Umm you smell good!" DTB is not odd to my nose or too animalic. It just smell like clean, warm skin.
