Frederic Malle Synthetic Nature (previously Synthetic Jungle) was created by Anne Flipo and launched fall of 2021.  Inspired by those big, green cult perfumes of the 70s, but modernized.  The story goes that Malle liked Chanel No. 19 and Estee Lauder Private Collection and asked the perfume, Anne Flipo, to work from that, take what they liked, take out what they didn't and come up with something different.

Notes of galbanum, basil, black currant, jasmine, hyacinth, lily of the valley, almond, ylang, oakmoss and patchouli.

From the brand - "Bright and lush, mysterious and provocative, Synthetic Jungle is a stylized landscape in technicolor greens. An ode to cult perfumes of the 1970s, Synthetic Jungle offers a modern vision of nature reimagined."

Frederic Malle Synthetic Nature (previously Synthetic Jungle)Reviews

A Bottled Rose - "Green up the yin-yang. A bright galbanum opening, and a darker, more vintage galbanum in the oakmossed base. Very indolic from both the jasmine and the muguet. Walking into a hothouse of transparent lushness. Quite a prominent jasmine, and possibly a hyacinth. Acutely modern, without taking away from the more traditional aspect of the green genre. Just beautiful. An impressive addition to the collection."

Fragrantica - "Synthetic Jungle is unexpectedly urbane and moderne. Where many green fragrances either plunge into the depths of dark greens, or embrace the certain free spiritedness of lightness (in all of its senses), Synthetic Jungle capably offers the wearer both in excellent balance. There is the gorgeously airy, slightly salty aqueous breeze of florals, and there too is the grounding base of patchouli and moss. Imagine the shiver of arboreal petals and green grass as an exalting wind rushes through, picking up the scent of the forest on its voyage. A mighty fine example of how a green ought to be, especially when, in a depraved market, it seems that all perfumed forms have been exhausted – and the crucial element missing is a spark of inspiration. Creativity is infinite, but only under the appropriate conditions."

Fragrantica - "It's unique but if I had to compare it with something from the house - I'd say it's Carnal Flower-ish but without Tuberose and Coconut. Basil and Black Currant are working perfectly together."

Fragrantica - "It’s very ‘clean’ and lean in the opening delivering lush greenery, the wet florals of a florists, tulips and narcissus, LotV etc…This is all about sparkle, pushing out and breezy, airy vibes like en passant or Eau de Magnolia. It’s hard not to like it. It appeals to me on a technical level because it’s relatively simple, smells like flowers & there’s nowhere to hide. Some might find it boring, I beg to differ. I want to wear it to find out more."
