Rouse Simmons was created by Ursula Bielski (founder of Ghost Ship Scentporium and an historian, author and parapsychologist). It is a beautiful scent of bayberry, fir needle, glistening snow and myrrh that brings to mind a Christmas tree. It is based on the story of the ship Rouse Simmons, the so-called “Christmas Tree Ship” which vanished in Lake Michigan in November of 1912 while ferrying pine trees to Chicago. No trace of the ship or the crew, except for the captain’s wallet, was found for years, until a diver who was searching for another wreck, discovered the remains with the Christmas trees still on board. Pedestrians walking the riverside dock area near the Clark Street Bridge, where the ship was scheduled to arrive, report each December the strong scent of Christmas trees. Rouse Simmons is an eau de parfum, edp.
