A New Favorite Note
Fantastic value, as with all sets. I could never recommend the sampler sets enough. Five O'Clock au Gingembre has become a signature scent of mine. Imagine standing in your mother's warm kitchen on a cold winter's day, eating tasty, spicy ginger snap cookies. Imagine taking walk in the forest, bundled up in a soft coat, and fall leaves, golden and red, begin sprinkling from the heavens. With notes of tea and pepper and honey and cacao, it's an all-time favorite. In close second is Mandragore. If you're looking for a unique woody aromatic scent to transform you into an autumn witch, Mandragore is exactly what you need. It opens with a bright bergamot ginger spark, then dries down to a spicy anise. I could see how someone might find the anise overpowering in its herbaceousness, but I did not have that experience. Romance was not my favorite, but it was a hit with the floral lovers in my life. The blend is absolutely packed with soft florals—the floral notes include rose, yellow freesia, lily, lotus, white violet, and carnation. Ginger is listed as a top note, however, so perhaps it would read more ginger-y on someone else.
