Description

Gucci Guilty Absolute for Men was released in 2017.  Created by Alberto Morillas in collaboration with Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci, it has notes of leather, cypress, patchouli, woods and vetiver.  It is a somewhat polarizing fragrance, you either love it, admire it or despite it.  Uncompromising, a hard thing to find in today's fragrance world. Alberto Morillas said in an interview about this fragrance, "sometimes your greatest achievements comes from your greatest mistakes."

Gucci Guilty Absolute for Men Reviews

Parfumo - "This fragrance is definitely leathery and also "dirty". At this point, you don't imagine a freshly showered gentleman who is about to throw on his threads. But rather the worker, the mechanic, the bearded guy who immediately rattles through the mud with the Café Racer. Rather the man, who thunders the next load of gravel onto the trailer with a white undershirt and a scoop."

Basenotes - "A smooth spiced boozy leather which slides into a dark smoky vetiver and rests on a dry patchouli and wood base. Dark, warm, comforting and mysterious."

Parfumo - "I am wearing the warmest and softest leather scent I know. Fits great in the winter time. The way this scent smells, it should smell when you get into your brand new Rolls Royce. Finest leather and noblest woods. The dirty and animalic notes that are described here in some comments I do not perceive so. I find the scent soft and elegant. In my perception it is a so-called "skinscent". The projection is already restrained and very subtle after about an hour. The fragrance lies close to the skin and exudes its warm and soft aura. In the drydown, woody and and boozy accents join the leather. But other than that, I would describe the scent as very linear. There is no distinct scent progression. You definitely don't wear this scent for others or to get compliments. This is a fragrance you wear for yourself. By the fact that it only projects softly, I find it very versatile. I wear it now in the cold days even in the office. Gucci has managed to inspire me with the Guilty Absolute. For me, it is the winter fragrance of 2020/2021. "

Fragrantica - "Imagine an old Chesterfield leather couch. It is at least a hundred years old, It's in a English mansion, where British gentlemen have been sitting in it, smoking their cigars, and drinking their brandy for decades. Now imagine you press your nose deep into its leather upholstery. The smell you get from that, is what you get from this perfume."

Basenotes - "If you are not ready for it this one could be something of shock to some. It is strong leather and dry smoky vetiver. Not something that you come across in the common mall fare. Some say it smells of bandaids, they are not wrong. It brings that association if you are looking for it. It smells to me like a clean gym coaches office. The leather and rubber from the balls. It smells really good and manly. Longevity is plus, though it sits down on the skin after about 4 hours, still this is pretty dang good in this day and age. It doesn't project super hard, and you probably wouldn't want it to. It is not something that one would wear to chase the ladies necessarily. Though, it is definitely versatile in my opinion. I'd wear it anywhere, anytime, any weather."
