Description

Guerlain Iris Torrefie is from the L'Art et La Matiere Collection.  An iris-centric fragrance launched in fall 2020, created by Delphine Jelk, it is inspired by the cafes of Paris.  Notes of cardamom, bergamot, coffee, iris, ambrette, vanilla, amber, tea and leather. Guerlain Iris Torrefie is and eau de parfum, EDP.

From the brand - "'Iris breaks loose and is vibrantly heightened by powerful coffee. If it were a place, a literary café on the Parisian Left Bank.' Evoking that Parisian elegance so dear to Guerlain, Iris Torréfié is an olfactory deep dive into the legendary literary cafés of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Places like Le Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots remain the favourite haunts of artists in the French capital."

Reviews of Guerlain Iris Torrefie

Fragrantica - "You're at a café with your friend, drinking unsweetened tea and getting lipstick on the cup. Your friend is next to you drinking a strong cardamom coffee, also getting lipstick on the cup. Afterwards, you decide to split a crispy buttery, vanilla cookie before leaving the café. Guerlain Iris Torréfié."

Fragrantica - "ris Torrefie is a sophisticated, elegant, grown up version of Dior homme edt. I love my Dior homme line, got the whole vintage line as well as the 2020 line. it's one of my all time favourite line, but Iris Torrefie is what DH edt should have been."

Fragrantica - "This is buttery, powdery, a little balsamic, sexy, cozy and perfect. One of my all time favorite iris forward scents. The leather, coffee, tea and iris is a stunning blend."

Fragrantica - "IT opens with a beautiful iris note, high-quality and powdery, buttery and rich. It is reminiscent of La Pausa - not as intense or grey as the aforementioned Iris Silver Mist. However, it subsides disappointingly quickly. Peppery spice creeps in, namely aromatic cardamom, paving the way to the rich coffee note. I find coffee to be a note that never quite fits in perfumery, despite its unmistakable, comforting aroma. Here is one of the best inclusions of coffee I've encountered - it marries nicely with the remnants of the powdery iris and smooth vanilla that follows."

Fragrantica - "Just gorgeous! I love this. An underrated option from Guerlain. If you love Íris you need this. The combination of Iris, tea, and coffee is so unique. The coffee isn't too apparent; more like a supporting character, it just works beautifully!"

Fragrantica - "Dry iris, soft leather, deep coffee and a whiff of a tea scent."

Basenotes - "I got absolutely no coffee note, just iris and a very tiny bit of vanilla and miscellaneous spices. On my skin, it was dry powdery iris from beginning to end. The kind that smells a bit like paper. Little to no sweetness. In terms of "iris"-y-ness, I would it put it halfway between something like Dior Homme and Luten's ISM. It's not as austere as Lutens and not as as soft as Dior Homme. Eminently wearable."
