lovely fragrance
This is a winner, one of the best in the citrus category, though the Extreme is even better and makes this one unnecessary, since they are so similar.
Guerlain L'Instant Pour Homme Cologne was created in 2004. It is a woody fragrance created for men, but it works as well for women. The perfumers were Sylvaine Delacourte and Beatrice Piquet. Beautifully balanced, it opens with citrus, slightly tart lemon, and the beautiful cocoa (not too much!), hibiscus and tea show up. The drydown is very creamy woods. Guerlain L'Instant Pour Homme is perfect for daytime or evening wear. Easy to wear, but not simple or linear at all.
Notes of citrus, anise, jasmine, patchouli, cedar, Indian sandalwood, Lapsang tea, cocoa beans, lavender, hibiscus seeds and musk. It is an eau de toilette, edt.
From Fragrantica - "A masterpiece of olfactory art." "Sophisticated fragrance with a lot of nuanced interplay."
From Kafkaesque - "I think it’s very well-done, refined, and sophisticated. Perhaps more to the point, I find it wholly unisex in nature."
From Bois de Jasmin - "While the fragrance opens up in a manner that may recall classical masculine compositions, the drydown is finely constructed in such a way as to blend gender divisions. It is beautiful in the same way as Chris Sheldrake’s compositions for Serge Lutens–it escapes conventions and predictability."
