Guerlain Vetiver Parfum was launched in 2024 - a richer version of the original classic. Created by Delphine Jelk, it has notes of vetiver, juniper berries, smoke, tonka bean, licorice and coriander This is the parfum strength. A really great iteration of this fragrance and a new STC store fave.
From the brand - "Composed much like a gin, Vétiver Le Parfum opens with slightly bitter, aromatic notes of juniper berry. Invigorating and energizing, an exceptional vetiver essence follows, revealing its freshest facets. Distilled from vetiver roots, this noble ingredient showcases the full depth of vetiver’s woody tones. Blended with captivating smoky notes and the addictive Tonka bean, beloved by Guerlain, the result is a fragrance that reveals a sublime balance of brightness and earthiness, power and elegance."
Delphine Jelk - "FOR VÉTIVER LE PARFUM, I CREATED AN EVEN MORE AROMATIC AND INTENSE OPENING WITH JUNIPER BERRIES, CORIANDER AND LICORICE. ALL IN THE SPIRIT OF AN INFUSED GIN.”"
Fragrantica - " Without the citruses up top, this goes into rooty / aromatic vetiver straight from the beginning. You do get a little freshness from the juniper berries and coriander I presume but it is short lived. From mid to base the perfume gets into gorgeously smoooth - creamy - vetiver and a bit of licorice, accompanied by a natural smelling and not overly sweet tonka in the drydown. The Perfume is much linear in development and behaves like a perfume - in that it stays closer to the skin but you get pleasant whiffs all day. It is more "personal" than both the Vetiver EDT and Extreme which are both livelier. But it has great depth and class / sophistication."
Fragrantica - "The Guerlain Vetiver Parfum maintains practically the same essence as the EDT version. It seemed to me that they softened the citrus opening, intensified the presence of vetiver, and added a lot of patchouli with some tobacco permeating as well, which gives a smoky and earthy tone to the composition. In the drydown, you can still perceive the smoky tone, but the licorice and tonka bean listed in the pyramid are very subtle, just softening the vetiver. It's the same DNA as the original with something new, earthy, and smoky. Very modern and unique! The performance seems to be typical of "parfum", long-lasting on the skin but with moderate sillage."
Fragrantica - "This is the best vetiver fragrance I've smelled and worn. Period. It's the original guerlain vetiver, richer and more modernized, but still retains the soul. Instantly recognizable. But, it has a lightly sweet boozy warmth that contrasts the green spice. Still clean and fresh, but more."
