Description

Hawthorn trees produce small, um, fragrant flowers - the flowers announce themselves long before you see the tree. Sorta like you hear a zombie moan before you see them come around the side of the building. Now, some would say hawthorn smells like decomposing flesh, which really just gives it some indolic properties that we like to say makes it interesting, which is a good thing in the perfumista world. Hey, the world is full of boring perfumes, sometimes it's good to sample some with a note that takes it beyond the everyday.

This sampler contains 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of perfumes that use hawthorn as a note:

  1. Frederic Malle L'Eau d'Hiver - hawthorn, heliotrope, caramel, honey, angelica, jasmine and iris.  Basically, you won't smell any rotting flesh here
  2. Hermessence Cuir d'Ange - hawthorn, leather, violet, heliotrope, narcissus
  3. Kenzo Flower - hawthorn violet, jasmine, vanilla.
  4. MDCI Rose de Siwa - you aren't going to believe there's hawthorn in this. This is the most delicate rose scent ever, but the hawthorn gives it a lovely effect
  5. Yves Saint Laurent Paris EDT - a classic scent, hawthorn wrapped in elegance - hawthorn, geranium, hyacinth, heliotrope and lily of the valley
