Description

Heeley Cardinal was released in 2006 by James Heeley. A unisex amber fragrance centered on incense with notes of black pepper, linen, baie rose, myrrh, labdanum, olibanum, amber, patchouli and vetiver. Heeley Cardinal is an edp, eau de parfum.

From the brand -

"Incense enrobed in folds of white linen.

A timeless scent built around the traditional incense notes of labdanum, ciste, frankincense and myhr. An air of lightness and purity is portrayed by a note of fresh, clean linen. The association of grey amber, patchouli and vetiver, imparts this perfume with mysticism and a rare and contemporary elegance.

♂ An immaculate young priest.

♀ Auburn hair and milky white skin. Romantic and mystical."

Heeley Cardinal Reviews

Fragrantica - "Evocative of the light streaming through stained glass windows, Cardinal is a lightweight incense scent without the pomp and ceremony. "

Fragrantica - "The opening is absolutely brilliant: Aldehydes, soap, pink pepper, linen, and faint whiffs of yesterday's incense in the church. It does evoke the cold, stony, airiness of the nave of a gothic cathedral."

Fragrantica - "Cardinal is to my nose an unusually quiet and smokeless offering of church incense. Evoking to me less the heady and tart smell of ritual quality frankincense and myrrh but the afterimage of its smoke on the garments of an altar boy, this composition is distinguished by the presence of a soft linen accord."

Fragrantica - "Lovely church incense beauty which veers into a clean linen direction, though not as much as Ishtar by Rogue Perfumery which veered way too far. I've had or have tried just about every frankincense fragrance out there including icons such as Eau Sacre, Avignon, Unum LAVS, and many others. Cardinal is a rich olibanum-based elixir in the same category. It doesn't have a smoke note that an "incense" fragrance implies. Full bottle worthy for any frankincense resin fanatics (like me)."

Fragrantica - "Perfect incense. Without a doubt one of the most refined incense fragrances ever created. The foundation of the fragrance is the three middle notes of myrrh, labdanum, and frankincense. The base and top notes are here to support the middle notes. The top pepper note gave it a nice character and patchouli, and amber gave it depth."
