Description

Heretic Parfum Nosferatu was released in 2024, created by Douglas Little. Notes of lilac, ambrette, petrichor, violet, iris, nagarmotha, ambergris, oud and labdanum.

From the brand - "In partnership with Nosferatu and Focus Features, Heretic is proud to present Nosferatu Eau de Macabre, a fragrance inspired by the iconic vampire. A chilling scent of wilting lilacs, velvety vegan ambergris and strikes of lightning that fill the air with petrichor and electricity—It's both delicate and hedonistic."

Heretic was founded by Douglas Little who also founded D.L. & Company, the fabulous premium candle and gift company. Heretic is a natural fragrance line. In information from the company's website: Natural fragrance is a unique, relatively unexplored niche within the fragrance world–outside of spa/aromatherapy products. Natural fragrances are much like wine: one can detect nuances of the plant, the soil and its setting; these fragrances have character that cannot be found or replicated synthetically. Uniquely alive, these fragrances are olfactory fingerprints. The name heretic refers to someone who eschews the masses, preferring their own pathways of thinking.

From the company on materials they use:

"No phthalates • No parabens • No synthetic dyes • No formaldehyde • Vegan-friendly • Cruelty-free
Our handcrafted, natural fragrances surpass all industry standards of “clean” with their naturally derived ingredients blended in organic, non-GMO sugarcane alcohol. Each ingredient in Dirty Ginger is 100% natural or naturally-derived as defined by ISO 9235 – Natural Aromatic Raw Materials Vocabulary."

Heretic Parfum Nosferatu Reviews

Fragrantica - "This is perfect for the women who want to smell ghostly or like a nymph in her all white night gown. It’s cold ,wet, and quite melancholic. Truly one of a kind."

Fragrantica - "It makes me feel like Edward Cullen running in the foggy Washington forrest. It is reminiscent of a wet mossy forrest mixed with a cold damp cellar. It originally smells like muddy and moist frigid air. After a while it dries to be much more lighter floral with an earthy tone. It is mysterious and sophisticated. I like it a lot makes me want to watch the movie!"

Fragrantica - "aptures the melancholia and dread of Ellen Hutter (played by Lily-Rose Depp) perfectly. Decaying lilacs in a cold dark room. The smell of petrichor seeping through an open stained glass window. Blackened clouds rolling across the valley, rife with the electrical discharge of an impending thunder storm. It is as beautiful as it is forlorn in its wistful sorrow."

Fragrantica - "Dank, dark, wet. A cemetery after a rainstorm. Rotting flower petals littering grave fronts of cracked, wet tombstones. Gnarly trees dripping & drooping, casting witchy shadows, bats hanging languidly from dead branches. Something slithers through dead, muddy leaves. An owl hoots."

Fragrantica - "The wettest-smelling perfume I've ever sampled, and I mean that as a compliment. Nosferatu was and still is very hyped, but I find it deserving. I feel like Nosferatu is like the wave of sadness that hits as you become aware of the impermanence of beauty, and life itself. Imagine you've wandered outside in the aftermath of a violent, late spring thunderstorm. The sun peaks out for just a moment before being smothered again by dark clouds, as you spot a pale rainbow in the distance that is fading fast. You then notice the bush that flowered beautifully in the early spring, but now almost all the blooms have fallen off and are rotting on the ground in thick, damp piles. You realize you never stopped to admire them or inhale their fragrance when they were still fresh, and now they're gone. A tear wells up in the corner of your eye, but it's not because of the flowers."
