Hermes Amazone EDT roll-on
My partner loves Amazone, so I was very pleased to find an affordable way to gift her with it.
Hermes Amazone EDT is a tender yet fiery fragrance. The current 2017 version of Hermes Amazone eau de toilette has notes of blackcurrant buds, daffodils, narcissus, galbanum, red fruits and vetiver. The fragrance takes creativity from the legendary horsewomen who according to legend ruled the shores of the Black Sea. Amazone is in the Floral Green fragrance group with accords of green, fruity, woody and soft spices. A twirling harmony of notes around blackcurrants taking turns to shine. The version that we have, shown in the photo, is a version or two ago, not the current version.
boisdejasmin" "Green, petally, mossy, with a lush dose of black currant, the original formula by Amazone was signed by Jean-Claude Ellena in 1973. Blackcurrant bud is ordinarily intensely green, with a fruity nuance, but in Amazone it is used in such a way as to enhance the ripe berry impression of the top note. When contrasted with the watery green floral heart and the mossy-woody drydown, it makes for a vivid composition."
Fragrantica: "This is just a bit more beautiful. Soft, comforting, and some kind of shy sensuality."

Hermès Amazone edt What a strange fragrance! When I took the initial whiff from the sample bottle, I was struck by Dr. Pepper-spicy and syrupy. I almost did not put it on. In fact, it took me two weeks and few more sniffs of the decant to finally put it on. It started with a blast of smoky church incense and spice with powdered fruity-florals off in the distance. As the scent dried down, the smokiness and incense-like notes disappeared as they were overtaken by sweetened red fruits and powdery, aged floral. There is a soft green quality running through and some spiciness lingers, but not enough to counteract the floral notes (on me). This is another example of a fragrance where I got caught up in the romance of the scent story, only to be let down as the concoction mingled with my body chemistry.

I have loved this scent since I came across it in about 1980. They changed the formulation a bit and stopped making the edp & parfum. I was so sad! But it is still my all-time fav, and really I never found anything at all like it.
