A LuckyScent exclusive created especially for their 15th anniversary, Buonissimo invokes the scent of baking bread. Imagine waking up in a charming Italian town over a simple breakfast of a hot cup of foamed cappuccino and a freshly baked sweet pastry.
Perfumer Hilde Soliani brings this vision to life in the form of what the Italians call brioche. It’s perfectly buttery and fluffy with a sugared vanilla and a sweet egg wash over the pastries’ gentle slopes, caramelized a crispy golden brown from the oven. And throughout the whole thing is an ever-present dark swirl of espresso and cream. Just the perfect gourmand!! Buonissimo is an eau de parfum, edp.
LuckyScent: This is delicious. It smells like a creamy, sweet cup of hazelnut coffee with a buttery pastry on the side. It’s a true gourmand fragrance, but not cloying or overly sweet. And like most gourmand fragrances it doesn’t have the best projection nor does it last as long (as non gourmand fragrances). But I am not one who likes to knock people out with perfume when stepping into an elevator or dental office, so I don’t mind it.
Fragrantica: Smells like if Willy Wonka owned a coffee shop. Vivid and sugary sweet, I can't decide if I want to eat or drink it! Cozy and invigorating at the same time. VERY sweet - too full-on gourmand for me to want to wear, but I appreciate smelling it. It definitely smells more high quality than the typical gourmand that's this full-on sugary. If you're a gourmand fan and like the notes listed for this, it's a must-try!
Fragrantica: I have an old sample of this from Luckyscent, and the decant has held up beautifully. Delish, and I'm not usually a gourmand girl. It's smells like hazelnut coffee creamer but like, an expensive and aspirational hazelnut coffee creamer. Like a strong, milky, hazelnut espresso drink with a fat slice of brioche.
Fragrantica: This one is right to the point - smells like a lovely vanilla croissant with a milky cappuccino on the side. It is a bit sweet, but more 'creamy' than sugary. If you are a gourmand lover, this would be a heavenly one. I do love to smell such true-to-life gourmands on occasion, even if I don't wear them. A fun experience in a sample, and if you wear realistic gourmands, worthy of a bottle since it is so well done.
Fragrantica: This reminds me of nothing else. I’m a picky gourmand lover. I became totally obsessed by this one. It takes me to Italy right away, to the cafeteria me and my tiramisu and cappuccino (or croissant and cappuccino) and all the Italian cravings comes over me. It smells exactly as the dessert and I find it very unisex, sophisticated gourmand, not too sweet. The only problem is the weak staying power. It really doesn’t stay very long on my skin, maximum 2 hours.
Fragrantica: Could've just named this Grandma's Kitchen. This fragrance comes to life with the sweet grounds of coffee beans and baked seasonal treats. Warm sugar-dusted sweets, flaky croissants, and caramel fills the atmosphere all embraced by a wallop of buttery vanilla to give you the cuisine experience. Food as a fragrance. You gotta ask yourself if this is something you aspire to smell like. This gourmand is also powdery but the dusty particles don't begin to emerge until the 45min mark. It does get stronger as it warms on your skin and the fragrance begins to waft softly around you with the sweet cappuccino, baking spices and mouth-watering baked goods. Buonissimo is warm and comforting, morphs wonderfully and the dry down is the epitome of autumn at Nana's.
Fragrantica: It smells exactly like the notes! You can smell each one individually, but they all blend beautifully together to give you the aroma of French patisserie. It also smells like a buttery vanilla cake with a side of extra foamy cappuccino to wash it all down. This is one of the best from Hilde. Edit: heavily reminds me of tiramisu or chocolate biscotti.
