Jo Malone has released their annual limited-edition Brit collection for 2023. Entitled "The Highlands", this collection is inspired by the untamed beauty of the Scottish Highlands and features four scents that explore vivid landscapes of rugged highlands, misty moors, crumbling castles and mysterious lochs. Celine Roux, global director of fragrance of Jo Malone, stated that often when we think of the British countryside, we think of something that’s a bit more orderly, a bit more groomed. But with the Scottish Highlands, nature runs wild in such a dramatic way. Jo Malone really wanted to embrace this with their collection and the idea that however much you may try to control nature, when left to its own devices, it just takes over.
Mallow On The Moor is a soft, powdery and charming scent that takes its cue from purple mallow flowers. Perfumer Yann Vasnier presented a mallow accord to Celine Roux that she was really keen on from the start and he worked to create the right balance of softness, sweetness and powderiness in the fragrance. To retain a sense of petaly freshness in the top, violet leaves were used to keep things green and fresh. In the heart, orris and heliotrope were used for softness and, in the base, exclusive roasted oak was blended to represent the earthy, peaty textures of the moors.
Inspired by purple mallow flowers and green landscapes, you can picture purple mallow flowers spilling across an untamed landscape, beckoning bees with their vivid color. These pretty petals flutter alongside powdery heliotrope in this soft floral scent enriched by violet leaves. Mallow On The Moor is a cologne.

Sephora: I got this last week and I'm someone who owns dozens of perfumes and will rarely even make it through a travel size before getting bored with a scent but this is stunning, the perfect spring scent. I tend to go for greener smelling perfumes. This has little of that but...it smells like laying on a freshly laundered blanket in the sun in a field of flowers. It makes me so happy.
