Juniper Ridge natural fragrances are extracted in the field using pre-industrial perfume techniques – juice presses, converted whiskey stills, steam, and copper pipes and are mixed with organic sugar cane alcohol. They are 100% natural fragrances made with tree pitch, plant sap/juice and steam-distilled oils. All the plant trimmings and tree boughs are sustainably harvested. In their Interact publication they state that the Backpacker Cologne is the highest expression of Juniper Ridge's mission to bring the stillness and the beauty of the mountains, the deserts and the coasts of the West into your daily life. All of the Backpacker Colognes are named for the place they come from. They are 100% local and wildcrafted, harvested, extracted and formulated by Juniper Ridge. They're trail-found and trail-made in order to truly capture the beauty of the outdoors.
Big Sur is one of Juniper Ridge's most-requested throwback scents. It is a cool, crisp fragrance that reflects that iconic section of the California coast. Juniper Ridge's field labs are an ode to magical places that radiate nature's beauty. Big Sur is a coastal wilderness where land and ocean give each other a hug. The fog moves from the Pacific Ocean, to the redwoods, to the black sage flowers, to our lungs. A spritz of the cologne decorates you with notes of dew laden cypress, soft wild ginger and wild sages found in those Big Sur enchanted forests. Juniper Ridge endeavors to capture the subtle combinations of scents unique to special places, so that they can be shared with others who appreciate their magic as much as they do.
