Le Labo Cuir 28 is a City Exclusive to Dubai and introduced in 2013, Le Labo Cuir 28 is centered on leather - but not a heavy, rough leather - composed by Nathalie Lorson.
Notes of leather, wood, vetiver, animal notes, musk and vanilla. Opens full on leathery and smooths out beautifully. The is a must-try for leather lovers.
From The Fragrant Man - "An opening like no other; the top notes are sticky, tarry and resinous with what smells like a combination of helichrysum, sarsaparilla, licorice root and a suspicion of the methylphenolic smell of distilled creosote."
From Basenotes - "Overall, this is a very pleasant expensive oiled leather jacket like scent, injected skilfully with dry wood and mossy green elements as well as a yummy vanilla, touched off appropriately with animalic muskiness. It is quite rich and layered, full of personality despite seeming so simply formulated."
From Cafleurbon - "Cuir 28 is one of the misanthropes full of strong potentially confrontational accords from tarry leather, heavy vetiver, and even heavier ambrox all layered over a synthetic musk. Sounds about as appealing as hugging a cactus, right? Well Cuir 28 is a fragrance I should’ve preferred hugging a cactus over wearing because of the ambrox and muscenone but Mme Lorson is one of those perfumers who forces me to confront my fragrant prejudices to see if there is truly nothing there to admire. Cuir 28 shows me in the hands of a master perfumer there is much to admire in the previously unlikable."
