Description

Burrow smells like a crackling fire, earthy woods, an ochre patina of spice and the embrace of a fire’s warmth on a winter’s night. It features top notes of caraway and turmeric; middle notes    of date and cedar; and base notes of vetiver and tonka bean. Burrow is an eau de parfum, edp.

Libertine Fragrance is an independent North American perfume house, blending, bottling and labeling perfumes by hand in Canada. All Libertine Fragrances are vegan and cruelty free and are unisex.

LIBERTINE FRAGRANCES BURROW REVIEWS

Libertine Fragrances: Burrow, turned out to be a new favorite. It was the Tonka Bean notes that drew me to this one but it has a great earthiness mixed in with spice notes that take me to another space. I wasn't sure at first glance but with this all coming from a home grown Canadian company made with care I just had to give it a chance. After wearing it I need to say, this one is a must have in anyone's collection.

Libertine Fragrances: Burrow brought me down on four legs diving headfirst for safety between thick, gnarled roots. It's deep conversations with friends and storytelling by the fire, and it should be mandatory that all flannel clothing smell like this! The vetiver is a touch too grassy for my skin chemistry, while the turmeric just below has an amplifying effect that carries the musky, damp hay and petrichor almost clear through to the finish. While I don't necessarily think I would wear this out, I want to douse my sheets and pillowcases and bury my face in it. As I'm sure many of us would say about our own, I do very much love my bed, and this makes me want to just settle in all nice and cozy for a long hibernation. I adore earthy scents like this for my tiny studio apartment to help me feel like I'm not in the city when I need to escape into my own mind. It piques the curiosity and imagination - pairs well with a hot cup of tea, a warm sweater, a rainy day, and a good book.

Libertine Fragrances: When I wear this, I feel like I am tucked inside a hot outdoor bath tub with water so hot, the steam is all I can breathe in as I look around at the overcast sky and pull deeper into my own warmth. this is so earthy clean and bubble bath coziness to me. Also reminds me of the thick headiness when you breathe while in a wooden sauna. I love this one for days when I want to be in my own solace, and want to feel into a earthy clean girl aesthetic.

Libertine Fragrances: I was intrigued by its name, burrow, but now I relish its smell. This is hobbit land, the Shire, warmth, hearth, smell of fur and pelts, of warm ambers, of smoked sausages hanging from the cedar lintels. Everything is ok, you are secure, nourished, loved, surrounded by friendly mammals seeking your love. There is tajine almost ready on the stove, cut roots ready to be chewed and smelled. This is a very sensuel, superb and earthy fragrance. Wear it and a whiff will bring you back in the burrow, where things are warm, secure and welcoming.

Libertine Fragrances: Burrow was my first purchase from Libertine and I'll admit it was a blind buy. Friends recommended checking out Libertine and I'm glad I did. Burrow has one of the best date accords I've come across in this style of fragrance. The vetiver is very strong upfront but smoothes out and lends well to the overall composition. The date is by far the star of the show. It's very rich and sweet without being overbearing. The turmeric and caraway add a welcomed spicy element while the cedar and tonka ground the composition. Burrow is an absolute win in my books.
