Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde was released in 2018, created by Jacques Cavallier. Notes of agarwood, cocoa, saffron, patchouli, incense and blackcurrant.
From the brand - "The astonishing and unexpected encounter of oud and cocoa
Discovering new cultures can forever alter the course of one’s existence. In evoking the memory of the legendary explorer Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, one of Louis Vuitton’s first clients, who traveled throughout Africa with his custom-made Brazza trunk-bed, perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud created a completely unexpected accord: the meeting of a raw cocoa bean with an extremely rare oud assam. Then, in a last surprise reconciliation of shadow and light, saffron plays a spicy harmony on the skin. A whirlwind of essences to which one surrenders gladly."
Louis Vuitton is a French luxury fashion company - famous for their gorgeous and distinctive bags and the LV monogram. Founded in 1854, it was folded into LMVH, which has the brands of Moet et Chandon, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton.
Fragrantica - "Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde is a modern masculine masterpiece. It’s a leather dominant fragrance that also has oud and saffron, so as you could imagine it definitely has a rough and tumble aspect to it, but it also has a handsome mix of rose and cacao that smoothes the whole thing out and keeps the fragrance from smelling foreign or awkward while also elevating its complexity. Goes perfect with a black quilted Barbour jacket. Whenever I wear it I’m reminded of how much I love it."
Fragrantica - " Leather and oud and cacao with a saffron note that will keep all this screechy and sparkly to make it fun. Somehow I get a baccarat rouge inspiration here with added leather and oud but no powder and saltiness from the ambergris."
Fragrantica - "Nouveau Monde has a sexy, masculine, leathery civet-like vibe (even though these notes are not listed) with caramelic undertones and a smoky incense. These notes are blended so well that they don't become challenging to wear and have garnered me compliments from others. It's nothing like Tuscan Leather, Dior Homme Parfum, or Carved Oud as others (strangely) mention. It is its own beast."
Fragrantica - "The sillage of Nouveau Monde is among the best in the Western designer oud offerings I have smelled (FWIW-I now own more than 20 such designer ouds along with a similar number of niche bottles and several Middle-Eastern ouds as well. I've been on a huge oud kick since fall 2020). Bottom line: this is a really great, interestingly atypical oud fragrance and the more I wear it, the more I discover in it."
Fragrantica - "so much sweeter than I expected in a good way. I’ve been underrating vanilla and caramel notes! I want this scent in a bon bon or something, it smells so sweet and good."
