Maison Martin Margiela Replica Chasing Sunsets was released in 2026, capturing a moment in 1965 Impanema. Created by Elise Benat, Dora Baghriche, Coralie Spicher and Gabriela Chelariu, it has notes of mango, tuberose and sandalwood. Maison Martin Margiela Replica Chasing Sunsets is an eau de toilette, edt.
From the brand - "Let the Ipanema sunset embrace you, as a tropical mango accord captures the intoxicating sweetness of the setting sun. Chase the sun's last rays, and surrender to the vibrant pulse of a beachside samba, as day melts into night. As the last embers of sun paint Ipanema Beach in a fiery glow, the solar heat of tuberose blossoms, radiant and captivating. And like the shade of a palm tree offering respite from the sun's embrace, warm, creamy sandalwood grounds you, for a comforting feeling of belonging, and finding your own rhythm in this tropical haven."
Replica by Maison Martin Margiela is the reproduction of familiar scents and moments of varying locations and periods.
Fragrantica - "Chasing Sunsets is a warm, natural smelling mango made creamy from the sandalwood mostly and tuberose. It doesn't give spoiled or rancid and doesn't cheat by smelling like other fruits, such as passionfruit, pineapple, or peach, like it usually does. It's not tart at all and also not nauseating. Rather it smells like real mangos which I honestly get for the life of the fragrance, the sandalwood just shines more as it dries. Sliced sweet mango with its juices on a sandalwood board, basking in warm sunset beams."
Fragrantica - "I usually find mango notes to be sour/tart and too tropical but this is done so well. It’s a sugary fresh mango, the tuberose and sandalwood create a creaminess that reminds me of a mango milkshake."
Fragrantica - "like a burst of juicy mango with it’s fragrant skin still intact as you take a bite! definitely some sort of solar note, but fresh and fruity; i usually don’t like fruit notes in fragrance as they can be cloying, but this feels natural and bright."
Fragrantica - "This is a strong mango fragrance. You do get some of the solar tuberose and woody notes, but this is by far a tropical fragrance. I get a little bit of a sunny, beachy vibe, but thankfully there isn’t any coconut like you find in so many of those scents. It is very unisex, it has almost a sunblock type of scent, I guess not having the coconut keeps it from smelling like full on sunblock. I couldn’t stop smelling the tester strip it was so delightful."
