Description

Fog is a visible mass of condensed water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere at or near the Earth’s surface. Walking on a foggy day feels peaceful, dreamlike and tranquil. The atmosphere is marked by dampened sounds, intimate scenery and a sense of slow, quiet isolation. The air can feel heavy or damp on the skin. Walking in the fog feels like being conscious in a dream. To create a note of fog, or rain or dew, perfumers play with your imagination using notes and stories. They use vetiver or patchouli which can smell like wet soil, modern musks that smell like droplets of water on old stone and even some unexpected combinations of naturals and synthetics to create cool, shady and mysterious formulas that make you think of rain, salty breezes, fog and mist.

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler:
  1. 4160 Tuesdays The Big Smoke EDP - The Big Smoke is a rare amber with no vanillin as they wanted it to smell of dry smoked woods. It is one of London’s nicknames from the days before the Clean Air Act, when fog mixed with coal smoke was too dangerous to go out in. It feels like a film noire with its notes of tobacco, vetiver, a smidge of smoky white birch, a shed load of labdanum blended with frankincense, dark patchouli, Cashmeran velvet, Cedramber, Ambrox and two musks. There’s a flash of green: cardamon essential oil and aldehyde C10, for its waxy candle-like feel.
  2. Demeter Ominous Mist Cologne - An intriguing and evocative fragrance that transports you to a realm of mystery and intrigue. At its heart, it entwines a blend of dark notes with bursts of brightness, reminiscent of a dense mist cloaking a hidden forest on a moonless night. Within this enigmatic mist, whispers of sandalwood, cedar and a fantasy wood accord create a sense of eerie serenity. It is a fragrance for those who embrace their inner darkness, finding beauty in the mysterious and uncharted territories of life.
  3. Olympic Orchid Kingston Ferry Parfum - Kingston Ferry is an aromatic, aquatic and woody fragrance inspired by the scents from land, beach and water at a Pacific Northwest ferry dock. It’s the scent of a sunny morning when the fog is still hanging over the water, the tide’s going out, and there’s the promise of a great adventure by water. With notes of salt air, rhododendron, lavender, tarragon, chamomile, heather, cedar leaves, the sea-weathered wood pilings, diesel fuel (a botanical accord), seaweed, sun-dried driftwood and charred firewood.
  4. Red Deer Grove Stranger in the Fog Perfume Oil - Cold rain and billowing fog. The steady drip of water on worn stone. The sound of footsteps echoes in the alley. Few are about at this time of night, and those who are hurry for home and safety, coats bunched in their fingers, heads lowered against the rain. He moves among them with the liquid grace of a shark, appearing and disappearing in the fog. He is in no hurry. Sharp steel, animal musk and wet earth. Pale sandalwood, storm-charged air and cool rain. Velvety florals, white lily and raw pine. Dark musk, seductive amber and wicked absinthe. The scent is cool, fresh and clean, like a night of fog and rain, with a dark secret hidden in its core.
  5. Sixteen92 Hydromancy - Fog, cold violet, lichen, ambroxan, mineral accord, petrichor and glass.
  6. Stora Skuggan Mistpouffer EDP - Mistpouffer is explained as a natural sound with mysterious origins, that sounds like cannon fire off in the distance through dense fog. Machimoodus State Park takes its name from the Native American name for the area - "place of bad noises." Stora Skuggan wanted to bring this sound into smell. Difficult to pin down, it is at times sweet (immortelle and sugar and malt) and foresty and a little foggy. Unique. With notes of bergamot, immortelle, pine, fig leaf, sugar, malt, cypriol oil (nagarmotha, smoke and vetiver.
  7. Zelda's Cauldron Foggy Froggy EDP - Earl grey tea is brightened with a bit of fresh lemon, sweetened just slightly with a powdery marshmallow. The drydown leaves you with a beautiful amber and a smoky fog. This is a beautiful scent perfect for misty, foggy mornings. With notes of bergamot, lemon, black tea, marshmallow, smoky fog and amber.
