Naomi Goodsir is a milliner/designer from Australia. After completing a fashion degree in Sydney and then apprenticing with a close protégé of Elsa Schiaparelli, she honed her skills as a milliner and has created couture hats for more than a decade. She uses non-traditional materials and innovative ideas to create hats which are highly desirable works of art. She has collaborated with numerous fashion designers in Australia as well as abroad creating headwear for their fashion shows and collections. In 2008 she added a signature line of handbags and accessories for men and women using beautiful leather and exotic skins selected from leading tanneries. She has procured artisans from Australia, France and Italy to work with her and all of her products are cut and sewn in France either by herself or her craftspeople.
She expanded into the perfume world in 2012, debuting her fragrances at Pitti in Florence, Italy. Her fragrances are created and hand-packed in France on the Cote d’Azur near Grasse, where Naomi lives and works. She debuted two fragrances created by Julien Rasquinet who trained under Pierre Bourdon. The two fragrances, Cuirs Velours and Bois d’Ascese, will soon be joined by Nuit de Bakelite (a tuberose scent) which will be created by Isabelle Doyen from Annick Goutal. Cuir Velours is an Oriental leather fragrance with notes of leather, tobacco, rum, cistus labdanum, incense and immortelle (everlasting) flowers. Bois d’Ascese is an incense woody fragrance with notes of tobacco, whiskey, cinnamon, amber, cistus labdanum, oakmoss, smoked cade wood and Somalian incense.
