Description

Parfum d'Empire Madagascar Le Baume Vanille was launched in 2025. Created by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, it is a nonsweet vanilla with notes of rum, black and pink pepper, cloves, cinnamon, cacao, cedarwood, coconut, vanilla and musk.  This is a eau de parfum, EDP

From the brand - "A balm for the heart, distilling the vegetal treasures of Madagascar. A balm to drink, a fabulous beverage reinvented as a generous sillage. A vanilla balm, the opulent flesh of a pod macerated at length in rum, enriched with the spices of the Grande Ile."

From the perfumer - "It is an unforgettable beverage that I sought to recreate in this vanilla balm. At the time when I spent long periods in Madagascar with my longtime partner Lucien Acquarone, the very friendly and jovial daughter of one of our Malagasy partners once offered me a drink that she concocted herself from natural ingredients of the country, including an impressive bunch of vanilla pods ripened for a long time in the sun. The whole thing macerated for weeks in very old rum, eventually resulting in a unique elixir of profound richness. Even today, the thought of it makes my mouth water!" Marc-Antoine Corticchiato

Parfum d'Empire Madagascar Le Baume Vanille Reviews

Fragrantica - "This perfume Is really outstanding! The booziness it's mostly in the head notes, What I really enjoy Is the Heart of the fragrances, with the juxtaposition of and extremely dark, Sweet, sticky note of vanilla, with an extremely bitter cocoa and spiky tabacco. The impression Is that of a vanilla-flavored cigar dipped in rum and some dried fruits molasses. The smokiness Is definitely there, the darkness Is never pierced by the light, this guy Is voluptuous, drinks, smokes and eats bitter chocolate. Very european. This Is fabulous."

Fragrantica - "Finally received my pre-ordered bottle and I am not the least bit disappointed. Master of spice Corticchiato has potentially taken inspiration from Vanille Havane and adjacent Tobacco Vanille derivatives and has presented the most temperamental, all encompassing, dark, raw vanilla fragrance on the market. Mysteriously Corticchiato has created a chili pepper like effect in the opening which sends rippling waves of warmth along the skin, almost like habanero pepper liquor creates a potent warmth in your mouth. This accord slowly melts into a deeply dark brooding unrefined vanilla rum effect alla Vanille Havane with a primarily woody cask-like, less so dusty cacao like dryness, sitting right between vanilla extract and blonde tobacco leaf."

Fragrantica - "This perfume is a tribute to an amazing drink Marc-Antoine was served during a visit in Madagascar. Love it or hate it, but you cannot ignore it. It’s strong, it’s definitely the best time of the year to wear it, it will warm you up! Once again, I must admire the craftmanship behind all of their perfumes."

Fragrantica - "Do not expect a pure vanilla scent, it's not it. Vanilla is the star of the show, but the rum and spices are definitely sharing the stage. It's bold, strong, spicy, slightly sweet. Wonderful creation, true niche at its best. "
