Parfums de Marly Carlisle was launched in 2015 and features top notes of green apple, saffron and nutmeg; middle notes of tonka bean, osmanthus, davana and rose; and base notes of vanilla, patchouli and opoponax resinoid. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
Christened from a majestic 17th-century English steed, Carlisle is a warmly spiced, gourmand-inflected oriental fragrance. Opening with a burst of juicy, tart green apple spiked with fiery saffron and earthy nutmeg, Carlisle features a richer-yet heart of warm tonka bean and creamy osmanthus but also gently bitter davana and luscious rose, leading into a true patchouli note that doesn't hold back on the earthiness. As they all reach Carlisle's final stages, the glow is enough to make you feel like you, yourself, are descended from royalty.
Fragrantica - "A sweet long lasting perfume that lasts for 10+ hours. The scent is dark and unique which makes is great for the spring and winter seasons."
Fragrantica - "I consider Carlisle to be the best perfume I've ever encountered from the house. It's the scent I associate with a Byronic hero, possessing two facets: a pleasant and gentle one, and a somber, dark, and mysterious one. First of all, the pyramid here on Fragrantica seems to be incomplete; other places mention more notes. The first aspect, pleasant and luminous, is represented by its floral and sweet nuances, especially formed by the juicy and natural green apple, combined with the floral combo of davana, osmanthus, and rose (which I perceive as a block) and tonka bean and vanilla, bringing a mature yet creamy and smooth sweetness."
Fragrantica - "Scent profile is dark, sweet and alluring. Smells like luxurious just like everything else PDM has made, but is a sexy- well-crafted blend. Longevity is great, you get at least 8-12+ hours. Very mysterious, masculine. "
