Thank god for sample sizes - I got this on hope that lily of the valley, jasmine, and orris sounded good and are notes I like. Shame on me, I should have looked at basenotes to see the oakmoss listed. This smells like death on me. Like a dark, damp dungeon where an evil genius is doing strange experiments with formaldehyde. I didn't detect any LOTV at all. But, you know, if you like oakmoss...
Wow,love lilly of the valley scents so thought I would give this a try.As noted before the scent is exquisite.It has excellent staying power on me,and the wonderful lilly of the valley note seems to linger for quite awhile.It has piqued my curiosity about other Parfum de Nicolai scents.

This is my first Nicolai perfume sample. The scent is exquisite. I find the notes to be fresh and alluring, and also grounded in a perfume tradition I don't fully understand yet. I am floored. And it's hard to stop smelling my wrist!
I burst out laughing when I saw the previous review; perfect description! I don't smell lily of the valley at all. It is rather dry, but not in a good way, especially at first. The dry-down is slightly better, but will definitely not become a favorite scent.
This doesn't develop well on my skin. It smells like a grandmother's scarf drawer.
