Heliotrope is an oriental fragrance that launched in 2015. Created by Lyn Harris, it is a modern amber that brings a unique warmth to the skin. Tangerine, neroli and bergamot enhanced with a heart of iris absolute, heliotrope and frankincense on a base of amber, vanilla absolute and sweet musk. With notes of tangerine, Tunisian neroli, Italian bergamot, Chinese iris absolute, heliotrope, Somalian frankincense, vanilla absolute, amber and white musk. Heliotrope is an eau de parfum, edp.
It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.

Fragrantica: “Absolutely gorgeous, and it has a lot of my favourite notes in one perfume: vanilla, heliotrope, musk and orange blossom. It is sweet and soft, with heliotrope at its best, I think. Very sugary too, but in a pleasant, almost pillowy way rather than a heavy one. I love how the musk and orange blossom sit in the background, giving the fragrance a more prolonged impression and lifting the heliotrope so it doesn’t feel flat. If you are not into gourmand or vanilla scents, this is probably not for you. But if you love perfumes like Vanilla Haze and Guimauve de Noël 31, this will be right up your alley. That said, it may also feel very familiar: Guimauve de Noël 31 in particular sits very close to this scent I think (and is far less expensive than Perfumer H Heliotrope). I do hope to buy this one someday, though, because the bottle is absolutely to die for.”
Fragrantica: “Delicately sweet, never excessive, A dream. Soft, airy, and beautifully comforting. Heliotrope is a fluffy, sweet vanilla that feels delicate rather than heavy. The heliotrope delivers a smooth, almond-like creaminess, and when it melds with the musk, it becomes irresistibly inviting; you just keep going back to smell it again and again. This is an addictive masterpiece and one of my dream perfumes. Simply put, if I could only choose 10 fragrances, Heliotrope would be an essential pick. The drydown is where the magic really happens—soft, powdery, lightly sweet, and subtly fresh. It sits close to the skin, well-blended, soothing, and comforting… like a gentle hug on a warm day.”
Fragrantica: “Stunning and balanced. It is rare for me to find a heliotrope forward fragrance where I'm not overwhelmed by a play-doh vibe. That vibe is here a little but it's an artisanal play-doh that has been handmade by fairies and elves using specially sourced ingredients from Narnia. The heliotrope is divine and the orange blossom isn't screechy at all - it just hums right alongside the heliotrope and vanilla (which is also understated). It sits close to the skin which means I don't feel bad about spraying myself 20 times just to "have an experience." I agree with the reviewers below call this a masterpiece. It's beautiful and sublime and a must for lovers of heliotrope (and artisanal play-doh).”

Fragrantica: “Mouth-watering heliotrope — smelling this actually had me salivating — with the perfect level of support from vanilla to create a fluffier-than-air dessert that would melt the hardest anti-gourmand (me). This is a heavenly yet elegant perfume. Semi-floral, even a smidgen of incense, making it more versatile than you might expect. I imagine it worn to a relaxed lunch among old friends in warm spring sunshine. Not your usual setting for a modern amber.”
