Patchouli is a woody aromatic fragrance that launched in 2018. Created by Lyn Harris, it is a refined scent to enhance the natural beauty of the wearer, with an amber base to lend longevity through ‘til dusk. Black pepper and juniper wood lifted with galbanum and iris absolute with a heart of ylang-ylang absolute and angelica on a base of bold patchouli (Indonesia) and cedarwood. With notes of black pepper, juniper wood, Iranian galbanum, Moroccan iris absolute, ylang ylang absolute, angelica seed, Indonesian patchouli and Virginian cedarwood. Patchouli is an eau de parfum, edp.
It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.

It’s a woody, peppery, transparent patchouli, neither boozy nor traditional, constructed with the brand’s trademark juniper and cedar wood and elegantly greened with galbanum and a lick of musky angelica. Dry, clean, quiet and contemplative. It would also be great as a high-end soap. So beautiful that when I tried it on in the shop I was a little overcome and I had to buy a bottle there and then. There’s probably too much cedar to suit the warmest and coldest weather conditions but Patchouli is just perfect in spring or when the end of summer turns autumnal and the rain returns.”
