Description

Rose is a floral fragrance that launched in 2015. It was created by classically trained British perfumer, Lyn Harris who trained in Paris and Robertet Grasse before starting her career working with many acclaimed brands. She was one of the first female master perfumers to break into the industry. Lyn Harris founded Miller Harris in 2000 as well as founding Perfumer H in 2015. The laboratory and shop of Perfumer H are located in Marylebone, London and here each person is able to see how the perfumer works and experience the working laboratory.

Rose paints a clear and simple picture of the rose, a material which brings so much beauty into Harris' work. The Turkish rose oil is fused with the absolute and enhanced with raspberry, Roman chamomile, Egyptian geranium, bergamot, Italian mandarin, vanilla, iris and sweet musk. Rose is an eau de parfum, edp.

PERFUMER H ROSE REVIEWS

The Black Narcissus: Rather than a shrill soprano, this is a fulsome contralto: liquid and aromatic, the rose at the heart and within the perfume calling to you with magnetically soft fougere accents beneath –  gentle, uncliched patchouli; black pepper, carrot seed and smooth, delicate musk – a beautiful woman in a trench coat, perhaps, at twilight, on some secret assignation.

Get Lippie: A luminous and solar fragrance, radiating light and joy from the skin when you wear it. Imagine a bright pink rose, lit from within, and that is the essence of rose that Lyn has managed to capture here. Some of the notes include carrot seed and black pepper, and there’s a wonderfully cuddly amber base beneath. It lacks that sour and occasionally placticky effect you can get with some roses, and it seems oddly modern as a result. This is not your grandmother’s rose.
