Description

Rue Saint-Honore was created by Joelle Nealy. It is the scent of stacks of golden pastry brimming with velvety vanilla crème, wrapped in strands of caramel and topped with a triangle of hazelnut croquant; the rarefied air of luxury boutiques, cashmere, red-soled shoes; and a trace of fine French perfume. It is a water-based fragrance mist.

POESIE RUE SAINT-HONORE REVIEWS

Reddit: When this first arrived and I gave it a greedy goblin sniff straight out of the mail, I thought it would be Poesie's more delicate take on Arcana Two Finger Ballet, but after a rest and given a delightful first-try, it's really not nearly as sweet and gourmand and caramel-heavy. The notes description for this one makes it sound like it's going to be ENTIRELY dessert - pastry! vanilla cream! caramel! hazelnut! Husband even smells an unlisted chocolate note, which must be his nose smelling the hazelnut - but, like Au Vieux Paris, Rue Saint-Honoré is much more a gourmand-atmospheric, those gourmand notes muted by a layer of snuggly warmth from the cashmere and vague "French perfume". Once Rue Saint-Honoré dries, a leathery and almost sandalwood-y base emerges too, and it gets even better.

Reddit: Buttery, flaky croissant with sweet caramel swirls. A little nutty from the hazelnut, but just barely. I do get a sort of "expensive air" background of the scent that it describes. The cashmere musk, the perfume. The shoes? I'm not so sure about. Perhaps there's a little leather in there, though if there was I suspect I would accurately identify it right away. Leather is not usually a shy note. I do get a sort of... more atmospheric vibe in the background. As I wear it, the buttery aspect does sort of fall away and the perfume-y bit takes prominence. When I repeatedly smell it I get a little nose blind to the butter. I think this would be a great scent for someone who wants to try a gourmand scent but doesn't want it to be overwhelmingly foody or one-note. This essentially is the same effect of layering an expensive perfume with a gourmand perfume without the extra steps. It is really delectable and rich smelling.
