Ralph Lauren Polo Red Intense lands in the woody spicy fragrance group and was created by Olivier Fillotin in 2015. I believe it has been discontinued, but it is worthy of a sniff and compare to the Red EDP. You may love it better, I did. It has notes of cranberry, blood grapefruit, lemon, saffron, coffee, ginger, lavender, sage, amber, Leather and Red cedar.
From Fragrantica - "Very nice and mellow fruity/citrus scent, very fresh. Feels very spring day-time to me, like an afternoon upscale picnic in May. Not sure if I can detect cranberry specifically but it does lean towards "red" more and less floral/green. The scent is nicely rounded, not too sharp - "sweet & sour". However, it's also very light and for me the base notes & mid-notes are completely undetectable. Performance is very lackluster, lasting only 2-3 hours before fading into something that is detectable but not projecting."
From Fragrantica - "Very fresh and fruity! Cranberry note is present with lingering Coffee, could easily pass as unisex as sweetness could turn some Men off but none the less a great daily Frag 8/10"
From Fragrantica - "This is a great rendition of Polo Red - essentially just a longer lasting version. Has a very signature scent that smells great and draws some attention. It smells mostly of warm spice and vibrant fruit. If you could make a holiday dessert smell sexy and put into a bottle - this is what it would smell like. I would say it lasts at max 6 hours. This fragrance can be somewhat overwhelming and nauseating if you apply too much so be careful."
From Fragrantica - "This is one of my "wholesome" date scents. Like a picnic in the park scent. I really like this one! Cranberry with some light coffee and peppery vibes. A nice cranberry is so hard to come by, it's a real shame this is discontinued when the longevity on current polo reds is so awful."
