Description

Laura Biagiotti Roma was created in 1988. A minty open followed by a gorgeous spicy floral heart and creamy vanilla, musk and incense.

It is an oriental spicy fragrace with notes of black currant, sicilian bergamot pink grapefruit mint, hyacinth, carnation, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, amber, sandalwood, patchouli musk, civet, vanilla, oakmoss and myrrh. This is the EDT, eau de toilette.

Reviews of Laura Biagiotti Roma

From Makeup Alley  - "This has been my signature fragrance for over ten years now. If you don't like sweet, strong scents, maybe this is not the one for you, but on me it just works beautifully and never goes unnoticed (in a good way!) What I smell mostly when I wear this is sweet powder- so feminine and comforting. Love it."

From The Black Narcissus - " a fresh-fruity oriental, light and simultaneously licentious, that begins with a spritz of summery innocence (Sicilian bergamot, blackcurrant bud, grapefruit and, crucially, mint) over a cushiony, floral heart bouquet of rose, jasmine, carnation and lily of the valley. From the very start though, you cannot elude the sensuality of that base, which in its original incarnation in any case was  a warm, ambered accord of great complexity – patchouli, oakmoss, and a special accord known as ‘balsamo’: a whirl of North African myrrh, balsamic resins, and vanilla. On top of, or rather beneath, lies  a trio of animalics; civet, castoreum, and Siam ambergris, which smooths out the blend into a lingering, velveteen caress. I personally think it is a great scent, coming from a time when perfumers still made orientals that genuinely seduce."

    Beautiful

I am not very good at detecting or naming notes so I won't even try. But this is just a beautiful fragrance. It is elegant and for an EDT it has outstanding longevity. I think it wears close to the body (at any rate, nobody has commented on my leaving a cloud of perfume at work, in spite of dousing it on, it's so lovely). I get these lovely warm and spicy, slightly sweet puffs of joy-inducing gorgeousness. I'm thinking of getting more of this from STC since I know I love this one, and am terrified that if I go the ebay or other route, I will get a reformulation that will break my heart. I love fragrance and sample a lot and experience many, "hey, this is nice, but sort of meh to me and somewhat forgettable." And then there is the rare beauty that just grabs you and you are so happy to have found this lovely thing! Roma is one such fragrance, along with vintage EL Azuree, vintage Coty Chypre, and a few others.
