MEM Love's Rain Cologne

Year Introduced: 1974 (originally by Menley and James) MEM starting manufacturing the Love's line in 1985 or 1985

Notes: Mossy woods, citrus and greenery

 

 

Love's Rain Scent was released in 1974 by Menley & James. It is a beautiful, fresh, green scent that channels the outdoors. This, along with the original Love’s Baby Soft, was a lot of girl’s first fragrance. Chattem then purchased the Love's line from Menley & James in 1980.  The line was later sold to MEM in 1985 or 1986.

Love’s Rain is still available to purchase through Dana Classic Fragrances.

This is the original 1985/86 MEM cologne version of the fragrance.

    Not what I remember but still pleasant

    I was excited to get this as it had been over 20 years since I'd smelled it...perhaps too long for a scent memory to last? I purchased Love's Baby Soft in a drug store a few years ago, and that instantly recalled the same scent from my childhood. Love's Rain, on the other hand, is more soapy and less fresh/green than I remember. I doubt I will buy a larger decant, but still glad to experience it once more. It's vaguely familiar, and at the very least, it doesn't smell like anything else I currently own...definitely a perfume from another time.
