Ciara is a luxurious oriental fragrance that was first launched as 100 strength. 80 and 200 strength were launched later the same year. It features top notes of bergamot, lemon and neroli; middle notes of jasmine, iris, ylang-ylang and palisander; and base notes of incense, myrrh, raspberry, sandalwood, patchouli, cedar, leather, musk, opoponax and vanilla.
In the vein of a lot of the 1970s and 1980s fragrances, Ciara is loud but not overpowering. With its notes it is not exactly a clean fragrance but it is not skanky in the least. In a way, it is a bit masculine with the woods, incenses, resins and woods but its tagline was "The thoroughly female fragrance by Charles Revson." Lauren Hutton was the model for Ciara in 1974.
Although Ciara has gone through many reformulations, it is still available for purchase.
This is the version that is currently for sale.
