Description

This sampler will take you on an armchair visit through Scotland. Scotland is part of the United Kingdom and covers the northern third of the island of Great Britain. Mainland Scotland has a 96-mile border with England to the southeast and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, the North Sea to the northeast and the Irish Sea to the south. Scotland also contains more than 790 islands divided into four main groups: Shetland, Orkney, and the Inner Hebrides and Outer Hebrides. From the Highlands to the islands, there are distilleries across Scotland that produce the world's finest whisky which is featured in this sampler. Other featured notes are heather, peat, Scots pine, petrichor, bog myrtle, gorse, tweed and salty sea air.

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler:
  1. Arcana Wildcraft Scailtin Perfume Oil - A festive Gaelic beverage which was first introduced hundreds of years ago. Fresh milk and silky cream are heated and gently whipped with confectionary sugar, warmly spiced honey, Reunion Island vanilla beans, sweet tonka, Irish whisky, grated nutmeg and a bit of butter.
  2. Deep Midnight Perfumes Highland Mists Perfume Oil - Inspired by Scotland and the Outlander Series. Scotland is one of my favorite places to travel to, and I would actually love to move and live there one day. My first 21 day trip there was inspired after reading the first five books in the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon (who is one of the nicest authors I have ever met, and has answered many of my fan mail emails so kindly!) There is nothing quite like the feel of the air and atmosphere in Scotland when you are outside the cities. The misty fog, the islands, the shores, the glens, and even the rain hold a mystery that can blanket the body and make you feel like you are between the worlds. All the castles, moors, standing stones, and battlefields I visited there held a solemnity that I will never forget. It is one of the places of my deepest longings. This perfume, about one year in the making, is comprised of main notes of: Oakmoss, smoked peat, heather, woods, ozone, amber and background notes of musk and cedar. It is unisex tending slightly towards the feminine. Earthy, and slightly sharp, it warms down to the smoky peat finish with a hint of florals and woods.
  3. Freyja’s Daughters Cailleach Perfume Oil Cailleach (Call-ah), the Irish/Scottish word for Witch is also a figure in Irish/Scottish folklore. We tried to capture the essence of the coastal regions, the crisp winter and the deep tones of Cailleach herself. Our Cailleach fragrance has notes of Moss, Misty Coastal Woods, Vanilla, woodsmoke, Birch bark and Apple. It is a GREEN, marine, and woodsy scent with tiny hints of smoke.
  4. Freyja's Daughters The Stones of Stenness Perfume Oil - The Stones of Stenness are part of an ancient ceremonial site on the Orkney Islands in Northern Scotland. Originally 12 standing stones stood in this stone circle but only four remain today. The stones stand near other neolithic monuments, and items found here link them to the people of Skara Brae and Maeshowe. Within this stone circle originally was the Odin Stone. This stone had a hole carved through it and was thought to hold great magic. People would use it for Oath rituals, such as vows of commitments (engagement, marriage, etc.). Said to be the oldest site in the British Isles (carbon dated at 3100BC) it held its magic for the people of the Orkney Islands for thousands of years. In 1814 a recent landowner immigrant to the Island destroyed the Odin Stone first and then other stones because he was tired of the number of people showing up for rituals. The outrage of residents became too much and while some of the stones may be gone now, it still holds magic for many and is a World Heritage Site. The Stones of Stenness features notes of seaweed, salt air, clover, thistle and sage. This unique scent is a very seaweed/kelp forward fragrance.
  5. HazelFern Scents Scotland by the Sea Perfume Oil - The scent of the salty coastal seas of Scotland are punctuated with mossy notes and a smoky aura. The inviting aroma of salty sea air,
  6. Naughty Button Scottish Thistle EDP - Scottish herbs and forest foliage dance with notes of fresh apple, lavender, white spruce and wild rose. With top notes of green apple, geranium and clove; middle notes of lavender, spruce, white pine and rose; and base notes of Siberian fir needle and cedarwood.
  7. Perfumer H Rainwood EDP - A fragrance of effortless beauty, redolent of damp wood after the rain. Inspired by Lyn’s childhood memories in the vast Scottish Highlands, it features top notes of galbanum and elemi fused with clean notes of pepper and myrrh resting on a wet, woody base of juniper and cedar wood with patchouli leaves. With additional notes of water lily, angelica grain and frankincense.
  8. Siren Songs Elixirs Kelpie Perfume Oil - The kelpie is a shape-shifting water spirit inhabiting the lochs and pools of Scotland. It is described as a demon in the shape of a black horse. A kelpie is a mercurial creature that is both alluring and haunting. They roam the murky lochs, rising from the depths of the water to lure small children to their death, emerging from the moors and transforming into handsome strangers that seduce young maidens and luring victims into the dark depths of rivers only to devour them. With key notes of black sea salt, kelp, mist, murky loch water. water lily, ferns, moss, damp earth and tonka bean.
