Greta is part of Sixteen92's Legacy Collection. It was originally released in Spring of 2020 in The Golden Age Collection. "I never said I want to be alone. I only said I want to be left alone." There is all the difference. Famously private and reclusive, Garbo never signed autographs, rarely attended industry events and declined most interviews. Greta is a reticent and warm green atmospheric fragrance with notes of secluded garden walls, turned earth, quiet sidewalks, citrus grove, soft linen, sunlit jasmine and warm dew. It is a parfum.
Sixteen92 produces small-batch fine fragrance inspired by history, literature, lore and magic.
Indie Scent Library: "It literally smells like you plucked a semi-ripe orange off the tree and sniffed it. Citrus grove is clearly the strongest note. It certainly is not fruity-floral, it’s green-unripe-citrus. The jasmine does seem to be there very faintly in the background, but the citrus grove note is incredibly overpowering to the rest of the blend. Anyone who likes hyperrealistic scents would enjoy this."
A Little Slate: "The citrus x grass blend reminds me of the green medicinal balm my grandma buys back from Thailand for us for bug bites. Heavy with citronellal – despite the soft laundry notes – the opening smells as if I just put Asian bug repellant on to work on the lawn before moving on to the jasmine shrubs growing by a lake. Greta dries down very quickly, becoming a ‘clean skin’ type of smell. I love it at dry down even though I’m not fond of the screechy opening. Earthy, warm, soft florals on baby-skin musk. Very soft and sundressy type of scent. You’d likely enjoy Greta if the majority of ‘laundry’ scents normally appeal to you."
Reddit: "On the Skin: This is super interesting. This is a combination of soft laundry, with the smell of wet grass, almost like a grass stain on the knees of jeans. The citrus is so light but it adds another layer of clean. I would call this clean and sophisticated, but still natural. Overall: Over time, this just gets better and better. It softens into the skin and leaves a warm cotton scent that is so sweet and clean. This smells like summer, in a really atmospheric way. This isn’t floral at all, and there is the petrichor of sidewalks and earth that keep this from being too feminine. It’s just lovely. Throw and Duration Notes: This is strong, so be wary not to put on too much when you wear this. It lasts very long, which is surprising for a Sixteen92 scent on me."
The Redolent Mermaid: "Stone, rock and clean musk when sniffed from the sample. Applied to the skin, a quiet clean perfume announces itself. A bit of the sandy rough stones and rocks emerge, and the barest whiff of crystal clear citrus too. A heart of tender sterile soil is turned over to nourish the faint wisps of jasmine. Greta is a natural beauty, slinky and shimmery, clean yet natural. She is a day spent gardening and clipping fragrant vines, loose hair absorbing the sunshine and wind, bare hands infused with soil and blossoms then washed clean, a delicate bead of salty sweat twinkles on the brow. Skin, blooms, musk, clean earth, very clean, until that is all that remains... clean. I enjoy Greta very much."
