Description

Estate Cacao is a mouth-watering chocolate explosion celebrating a variety of chocolates and the raw cacao fruit. It opens with a melange of sweet milk and white chocolate with a light amount of dark chocolate in the background. The aged patchouli and pomegranate and raspberry fruit notes serve to represent the fruity fermented raw cacao and the fruit-notes that some finished high cacao content bars of very dark chocolate exhibit. The patchouli is primarily detectable when you go looking for it and it's most apparent in the initial opening upon application, where it subsides after a few minutes. It is not a heavy patchouli fragrance; this note is very smooth and used to ground the otherwise very sweet gourmand perfume. The fruity notes are light but detectable through most of the wear and into the dry down. Estate Vanilla is a small part of the formula, adding an additional complexity to the white chocolate accord as well as a nice fullness to the body of the perfume. If you love chocolate, this perfume is a symphony of all aspects of the plant, from the raw dried fermented beans with their delicate fruit notes to the cocoa butter and cocoa powder and the resulting finished silky chocolate bars. Each time you smell it, you will detect different layers of the chocolate profile.

Estate Cacao features notes of milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, patchouli, pomegranate, raspberry and Solstice Scent's Estate Vanilla accord. It is an eau de parfum, edp.

SOLSTICE SCENTS ESTATE CACAO REVIEWS

Fragrantica: I'm so pleased with this combination of dark chocolate and raspberry. I can't think of a perfume that smells like this. This is not like Montale Chocolate Greedy or CSP Cacao Vanille where it's powdery. And this is not like Kyse perfumes which all have a very strong synthetic smell. This gorgeous perfume is pure smooth dark chocolate bliss with some vanilla and fruits to liven it up. The chocolate and raspberry/pomegranate last on my skin for hours, the other notes start to fade. I usually hate patchouli but it must be blended so well because it doesn't irritate me in the scent. Hours later and I'm getting compliments on this perfume. It is a head turner. Angela does a beautiful job with her perfumes, on point with blending, and nothing smells fake or so rich that it's going to be headache inducing. So happy with this brand, and especially with Estate Cacao.

Fragrantica: It’s a great homage to the cocoa plant. Fantastically well crafted. The body of this scent is vanilla and gets surrounded by the chocolate. In the opening you get a blast of dark chocolate almost like raw cocoa powder. After that you get the vanilla and the pomegranate. In the dry down the vanilla becomes milky because of the milk chocolate and you get a slight touch of patchouli. One thing that I’ve noticed with the scent is indoor the vanilla is prominent but outdoor the chocolate comes out more and you get this choco/vanilla combo. Amazing scent.

Fragrantica: Chocolate, vanilla and patchouli with some tart fruits dancing in the background...very well blended with the notes peeking in and out throughout the day. Another stand out offering from this house. More, please!

cafleurbon: Even though I love almost every kind of chocolate, I consider myself to be a bit of a chocolate snob. Angela St. John's new Solstice Scents Estate Cocoa is nothing short of a chocolate lovers delight, a perfume that captures the richness and complexity, the “fino de aroma” of the essence of the fruit of the Arriba Nacional Cacao, the prized native cacao plants of Ecuador. With Solstice Scents Estate Cacao, Angela St. John creates a total cacao/chocolate experience. The earthy scent of the fresh cacao pods, the tangy vanilla of the white pulp, nutty floral and fruity notes of the raw and roasted fermented beans and the smooth, irresistible finished product are reflected in Estate Cacao – a perfume that will satisfy the nose of fragrance lovers and chocolate connoisseurs alike. It opens with a nutty, very slightly sweet take on dry cocoa powder. This initial delicious scent lingers on clothing for hours, but on skin quickly shifts to the creamy, vanilla custard-like elements of fresh cacao pulp. One would think that such a mélange of flavors and textures would result in a strictly gourmand style perfume, but strangely enough, that is not the case. I find Solstice Scents Estate Cacao to be an olfactory representation of the terroir and the process of chocolate production as well as an exquisite gourmand fragrance. The perfumer manages this effect by weaving a suggestion, a silken thread of the sheerest patchouli through the entire life of the perfume, supporting the delicate fruity notes of raspberry and pomegranate while grounding and centering the gourmand in a smooth, rich earthy loam. Like fine hand-crafted estate chocolate, Estate Cacao is a complex and ever changing blend of fruits, subtle florals and creamy, milky notes that carry and feature the dusty cocoa powder and fine vanilla for almost 24 hours on skin and for days on clothing.

Soft respectful not sticky sweet scent. Cozy. I can see white chocolate being in the combination. I’d try this again
