When you enter the circus, you are surrounded by the scents of hay for the elephants, fresh popcorn, peanuts - it's a strangely distinctive scent. It involves the caramel smell of sugar burning on the cotton candy machines and the faint reek of animal manure, wood shavings and hot peanuts, old dust shaken out of faded tents, and the greasepaint and the popcorn. Discover the world of nostalgia and wonder.
You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler:
- Calyx Marionette Perfume Oil - Marionette is the sweet smell of the midnight circus puppet show. Enjoy the delicate cotton candy melting at the touch of your lips as you watch Sempronia the Fairly flit about the wooden stage. Her silent wings stir the sweet air and her silken dress rustles as she flies, closer to escape each night. A sweet, warm and powdery fragrance with notes of aged silk, cotton candy, light musk and vanilla.
- Cirque Sensorium Charred and Drizzled Kettle Corn EDP - If you ever catch the scent of Charred and Drizzled Kettle Corn on a windless night, don’t follow it. Unless, of course, you want to see what the tent shows after midnight. It opens with kettle corn sweet, golden and slightly scorched. Next comes ribbons of salted caramel and melted chocolate that snake through the air like acrobats in mid-flip. Beneath the sugar and popcorn, the scent deepens. Patchouli wafts up from the ring floor, rich and damp, like soil where tent poles once stood. The final bow is musk, soft and intimate, trailing behind like the ringmaster’s whisper when the lights go out.
- Deep Midnight Perfumes Midnight on the Midway Perfume Oil - The circus gates have closed but you are still inside the magic of the night. Tantalizing smells of a welcoming bonfire and warm mini donuts fill the air, along with a faint and familiar perfume that draws you in deeper towards the midway, towards the tents in the very back of the fairgrounds where who knows what magical world will await you. Windswept leaves help you float along as though your feet already know the way. It's midnight now and the real performances will begin. Main notes in this perfume that will take you away to a magical circus midway at midnight are: sugared donuts, charred wood, brown sugar, dark amber, cinnamon and fall leaves. This perfume oil is unisex tending slightly towards the feminine side of the scale with delicious gourmand notes that are slightly spicy and smoky.
- Eldritch Whispers I Do Not Know You Perfume Oil - The smell of popcorn, funnel cake and cotton candy fill the air as you approach the big top circus. For some reason, you just can't shake off the feeling that something is wrong.
- Ghoulish Goods Midnight Circus Perfume Oil - Midnight Circus is a dark yet lively experience of caramel popcorn, fire, lacquer floorboards and whimsy. This scent was a collab with The Grim Theatre (Harlequin Grim and Achillea Grim) where they provided their expertise and experience from their very own dark circus performances. With their guidance, Ghoulish Goods has been able to bottle the circus experience not only from the perspective of the audience, but the performers as well. It is a beautiful balance of realism and whimsy. The sweet, buttery aroma of the caramel popcorn and concessions dance joyously between the deeper notes of fire, wood and smoke through the entire drydown. It is warm, sweet, woody and subtly spicy. With top notes of hickory, honey, incense and cinnamon; middle notes of smoke, amyris, caramel, salt, praline and spice; and base notes of cedarwood, moss, oud, olibanum, amber, musk, leather, popcorn, butter and vanilla.
- MiN New York Magic Circus EDP - At the turn of the century, a carnival travels at dusk. With top notes of bergamot, pink peppercorn, pineapple and cotton candy; middle notes of cistus, labdanum, nuts and geranium; and base notes of patchouli, caramel and wood chips.
- Sixteen92 Losers Club Perfume Oil - Inspired by Stephen King's novel It. A conceptual atmospheric fragrance with gourmand nuances featuring notes of rain-drenched iron, distant circus lights, candy floss and a red balloon.
- Sixteen92 Shadow Show Parfum – Inspired by Ray Bradbury's fascinating "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and Cooger & Dark's Pandemonium Shadow Show. By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes. It is a gourmand, fruity, smoky, metallic, dark fragrance that features notes of kettle corn, spun sugar, apple, machine oil, rusty metal and dirt.
- Wylde Ivy October Circus Perfume - Popcorn and candied apples, falling leaves on the damp autumn air, antique wood and painted fabric banners, a touch of smoke and danger. You can feel a change in the air when the circus comes to town. Like magic it appears, the colors, the lights, the music and the smells. It calls to the towns like a siren. No one is immune from the enticement of a traveling circus. You awake one brisk October morning and can just tell that something feels different, there is something in the air. There is an excitement in town. As the calliope music starts to play the scent of popcorn and candy applies drifts in the cool October air. The music trills and the tent flaps begin to slowly close. There is laughing all around you, colors and sparks, too many colors and noises. Your head starts to spin. Too late you start to realize that there is something just a little different about this circus.
