Description

Tom Ford Vanille Fatale was originally released in 2017 as part of the Private Blend line of fragrances.  And then, poof! was gone. It's back!  Created by Yanna Vasnier, Vanille Fatale is a soft, incensed vanilla, softer and more subtle than Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. If you found Tobacco Vanille to be a big vanilla bomb that was too, too much, then you could find Tom Ford Vanilla Fatale to be a perfect vanilla perfume for you. Vanilla spiced perfectly with coffee and incense. Just beautiful.

It has notes of saffron, coriander, myrrh, olibanum, vanilla, coffee, narcissus, frangipani, mahogany and suede.

From the brand - "Vanille Fatale is a force of nature personified. A beguiling tempest that takes over like a rush of blood to the head. The impossible becomes real, too good to be true becomes true. Her – or his – unrelenting hold is fixed, refined yet raw, polished yet primal. The stirring spice of saffron and coriander opens the scent, infiltrating the senses with the gripping incense of myrrh and olibanum. Reverberating with the tobacco-like pull of roasted barley, the heart of Vanille Fatale is a perfect storm of roasted coffee absolute, narcissus and frangipani that seduces with grounded floralcy. Madagascan vanilla blends with rich mahogany, its smoky glamour made all the more exotic with primal suede at the finish."

Reviews of Tom Ford Vanille Fatale

Fragrantica - "Mature and woody vanilla with deep and rich notes of dark rum and maybe some whiskey barrels. Not overly sweet, it’s more thick and spicy than the usual gourmand vanilla type of scents. I think some may say that it’s a bit masculine, but for my nose it’s beautiful and mysterious. The base is nice and warming with ambery, balsamic and even powdery notes. Reminds me a lot of Baraonda Nasomatto."

From Reddit - "There's a great myrrh and saffron combo deep down too. This isn't a gourmandy or heavy spicy fragrance. This is a weirdly light uplifting vanilla fragrance but is actually still projecting hard. My wife loves it but is currently walking a good 3 feet away from me because she said I'm a bit too strong."

Fragrantica - "I was intrigued by perfume reviewers saying this was an underrated fragrance. I tested it out at my local selfridges who happened to have a tester tucked away, and my god it is phenomenol. The first ten minutes may be a little sharp for some as the spices hit, but half an hour in you get the vanilla coming through like a steam train, the smokiness starts to creep in and it dries down to a very warm creamy comforting fragrance. I mainly get the mature dark vanilla shrouded in a thin veil of incense and smoked spices. I would say this has great longevity and sillage."

Fragrantica - "I love it. It's so boozy, smoky, ambery and cozy. It's one of my favorite vanilla scents alongside El Born and Zoologist Harvest Mouse. The zoologist perfume is softer, el born is more intense and is too warm to some people. This, however is a nice middle ground. It's warm but not overwhelming, soft but not too "fresh" or common. It's still very unique and unusual. It's also very sweet and gourmand to me, but that depends on a person. I mostly hear rum, booze, coffee and vanilla. Gorgeous!"

From Perfume Posse - "It’s a little Le Labo Vanille, but not that ephemeral, has some of the best things about Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille in there, but holds back on slapping you in the face with the tobacco and vanilla. It is pretty much perfect, I can’t think of anything I would change in it.    It is a wafting vanilla, not too heavy, balanced out beautifully by the incense and coffee.  Not much makes me so happy as a well-done coffee note thrown in."
