Toskovat Empty Wishes Well was released in 2022. Created by David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi, an "experience" fragrance with unique notes of metallic, rain, dried fallen leaves, stone, sage, myrrh, earth, patchouli, Java veteiver oil, Haitian vetiver, galbanum, amyris and carrot seeds.
From the brand -
"Today I remembered making wishes and having hope. I found this rusty old coin in my pocket, from somebody I can’t recall, from a place I don’t know, with a purpose it hasn’t served. When I was a child and I would find them, I’d keep them until I saw the first well and I would make a wish. But now money doesn’t make wishes come true, and there is no well. They dried up. Father told me the holy water font became mouldy. Marble cracked and prayers turned to dust on walls. But I still have my hope. I know rain will come and I will melt in the soil I walked on and nature will bring nurture. And more shall live again."
Fragrantica - "This is my favorite perfume, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. The story behind this scent speaks of hope returning after a period of drought, it perfectly represents how I feel when I wear this, calm, hopeful, and confident. It's one of the more intimate scents in the toskovat line, but I still get eight or more hours of longevity and a really pleasant scent bubble for most of its duration. Rain is my favorite scent in nature, and this perfume presents an earthy and metallic take on that concept. The notes of petrichor, myrhh, patchouli, sage, and vetiver all combine so beautifully in a way that creates a truly unique experience, one I'll treasure my whole life."
Fragrantica - "This scent evokes the sensory memory of late summer afternoons, humid but overcast and with an electric sting in the air due to an impending thunderstorm. Within the humidity are traces of earthiness, but of a domestic sort: viney growth on concrete or between cobblestones, or remnants of soil on fresh carrots. Opposing the balmy humidity--water on warm stone--is a coolness that is parallel to mint, but instead of herbal it's an inert metallic chill of worn coins. The coin-in-moist-air scent comes first in this fragrance. This was a surprise, as I'd been hoping to find a fragrance that evokes coldness, but not one that is minty, coniferous, or wintry. I'm entranced at the way the wateriness and earthiness are able to appear without negating the airiness of this scent, and the way warmth and coolness are balanced and seem equally inviting."
Fragrantica - "This might be my favourite of the toskovat range this is the most photorealistic fragrance i have smelt it smells exactly like an old well with still water that’s has been inhabited by mosquito larvae and moss its the best aquatic fragrance i’ve smelt the green components mix well to portray the slow rot and overgrowth of nature taking over but the metallic character makes you think of all the coins that have ever been thrown into the well and the smell of that looming in the water i’m in awe"
Fragrantica - "Masterpiece. This truly smells like everything it want's to portray. I catch the airy wetness from the petrichor boosted from the help of the metallic-ness helping it feel cold. Mid notes including way more of the resinous myrrh, patchouli, and vetiver while the base carries the dampness of the soil. This mainly hits me with petrichor, vetiver and myrrh all of them appearing sharply throughout the whole fragrance. Beautiful, serene, and eternal I hope David never stops producing this."
Fragrantica - "Honestly love this so much, my favorite of the toskovat fragrances i've tried. I don't smell much of the metallic notes on my skin, so if you're worried about smelling like pennies like I was before buying - I'm here to confirm it doesn't. Paints a picture of a rainy late autumn night with a sage note in the background. I layer with a pumpkin body mist and it's perfect together. 10/10"
Fragrantica - "My first Toskovat' fragrance, and my first review here! Also the first fragrance that triggered within me a deeper emotional response. Starts very energetically floral, but not in a fresh-spring-bloom kind of a way, more like dried late summer/autumn flowers that smell complex, heavier, almost savory-sweet. It quickly turns into pure vetiver and myrrh, and it's amazing. They later merge into a smell of luxurious leather and almost smoke, while retaining the deep floral quality. Ends as a light, faint myrrh that enhances the natural smell of my skin. It evokes an image of a famous and well-loved theater from the previous century. I could smell it around me for around two hours, and every time I'd noticed it, I immediately started rewatching nostalgic memories in my mind. The fragrance has a very somber but realistic feel about it. The same feeling you get when you're saying your final goodbye to a place that's been an important part of your life and your happiness, knowing it will never never play that same important role again, leaving you only with memories. You accept the departure, yet you're embracing the sadness it brings."
