Vera Wang perfumes are an offshoot of her designer business. Vera Wang was a figure skater and then became widely known for her gorgeous wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, as well as spending a lot of time designing figure skating costumes.
Her entry into fashion included a stint at Vogue, which she left after not getting an editor-in-chief position she wanted. After two years at Ralph Lauren, she opened her own shop in 1990 making high end luxury bridal gowns. Her wedding gowns have made an appearance at a multitude of famous and not so famous weddings - Kate Hudson (in real life and in The Bride Wars), Holly Hunter, Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez (one with Ben Aflleck, one without), Victoria Beckham and a couple of Kardashians, as well as characters in movies, television shows and bride-to-be fantasies everywhere.
When you think luxury wedding dress, Vera Wang is the name that pops up right next to that thought. She's expanded into jewelry, housewar and, yes, fragrance!
Her signature fragrance, Vera Wang, was well received, and over the years, it has become the go-to perfume for brides everywhere. It's a really nice scent, a floral aldehyde.
Vera Wang had this to say about perfume - "Fragrance provokes the senses and conjures up memories in inexplicable ways. The significance of a fragrance that captures all of the emotion, dignity and joy of a wedding is immeasurable. Incredibly intimate yet subtle, a bride’s fragrance remains with her long after the ceremony is over."
You know, she's right.
