Founded by Coralie Frébourg, a 2019 graduate of the École Supérieure du Parfum, the scents are designed in Paris with the women-led perfume lab, FLAIR — starring expert perfumers Amélie Bourgeois, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Camille Chemardin and Elia Chiche. Each Versatile extrait is manufactured in Grasse, using clean and sustainable materials. Made at 30% concentration. With Croissant Café, Versatile Paris reimagines tonka as an ultra smooth coffee-and-pastry fragrance. Created by Elia Chiche it is described as: buttered, toasted, warm and rich with caramel, vanilla, milk and cappuccino notes — French breakfast. Always delicious, never cloying. It is an extrait de parfum.
VERSATILE PARIS CROISSANT CAFE REVIEWS
Fragrantica: I am getting a super realistic almond croissant from this more than coffee or anything else. I want to smell like this on a moody day, sipping on hot chocolate while having another Gilmore girls marathon. It is rather a comfort intimate scent for a gourmand lover, but I think it has a good layering potential.
Fragrantica: A caramel macchiato, your choice of caffeine for the day, you think of yourself as someone with great patience (you are actually just an introvert, and are scared of confrontation) as you wait for the forty-fourth minute and fourth second (hey! it’s an angel number!) for your drink to come. End of the story, your macchiato never came, and as the true coward you were, you did not voice your concerns to the blonde bisexual barista with an eyebrow piercing (she was hot you did not want to embarrass yourself in front of her… fine i get it). Real thoughts about the fragrance though, not a fan of a roll-on (i love showering myself in perfume). very intimate scent. thought the coffee note was finally hitting in my face after an hour passed, and then i nearly slipped when getting off the bus (someone spilled their (most likely to be) mcdonald’s coffee on the floor). i think this is a sign to start dealing with my insufferable caffeine addiction, or perhaps in this case, my near mental obsession with finding the perfect coffee fragrance…
Fragrantica: Oh this is GOOD. I thought that coffee addict was my perfect coffee scent and it definitely is up there, but this one is giving it a run for its money. coffee addict is more of a chocolate caramel mocha whereas this is you sitting at a cafe with a coffee and a croissant (as the name would suggest). It's roasted coffee but somehow not bitter, very well done imo.
Fragrantica: This fragrance embodies everything I desired in a gourmand scent. It delivers the ideal balance of creamy coffee, musk, and vanilla—exactly what I was looking for. I particularly enjoy layering it with Coffee Break from Margiela. Upon initial dry down, it sits intimately close to the skin, with a pronounced emphasis on sesame and wheat. I appreciate how it avoids being overly sweet, unlike other scents that attempt to replicate various confections.
Fragrantica: This dark roasted coffee is a pleasure, especially with caramel and almond (coumarine) aroma. Nonetheless, I sense vanilla and tonka more and instead of creamy, milky capuccino, the smoky and dusty base pulls down the fluffiness of the scent. Sesame should represent crispy croissant, but it is oily. Croissant Café is not what I expected, but it's an interesting fragrance worth trying. (I bet it will make me to love it.)
Fragrantica: This is a cafe scent done different! this isn’t overly sweet or insanely spot on gourmand, it’s a super woody, aromatic and creamy vanillic coffee scent. You get the coffee right at the opening, a dark roast with sweet vanilla bean creamer with milk and caramel cubes. Then comes the comfiness of a small dimly lit cafe. You get a toasty and warm sesame with woody and earthy florals, an aromatic air here. The cafe has wooden walls, cabin style, with freshly picked wildflowers sitting at every table as a centerpiece and the air of freshly roasted coffee wafting in the air. Then comes a warmly spiced tonka bean with a sweet musk and vetiver. This feels like a memory of the cafe you’ve just left, its remnants leaving behind its sweet aromas and cozy atmosphere. This scent is a beautifully immersive gourmand!
