Xyrena Dark Ride is a realistic interpretation of water ride staples like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park and Splash Mountain. For years, perfume and theme park enthusiasts have searched for fragrances that accidentally smell similar to water rides. For the first time ever, the intoxicating, moody scent has been intentionally captured. Dark Ride features the familiar note of chlorinated water, a thrilling accord of theatrical fog and pyrotechnics and a hint of atmospheric mildew and damp ozone to create ‘the first thrill ride in a bottle.’ It was a finalist in the 2016 Art and Olfaction Awards in the Best Independent Fragrance category.
Xyrena is a compound of two terms - XY (the male and female chromosomes) and RENA (from the Latin word renascor which means "to be renewed or reborn). It also means “enchanter” in Old Greek. The company specializes in cruelty-free and vegan products certified by PETA, Leaping Bunny and Vegan Awareness Foundation. Xyrena describes itself as "a defiant cosmetics startup that includes the world's first celebrity-partnered on-demand perfumery."
This is the fragrance that first turned me on to Xyrena. I had heard people talking about a fragrance that smelled like Pirates of the Caribbean so I Googled it, found it, ordered it, tried it, loved it, and then shared it on STC.
