Xyrena is a compound of two terms - XY (the male and female chromosomes) and RENA (from the Latin word renascor which means "to be renewed or reborn). It also means “enchanter” in Old Greek. The company is certified 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They refer to themselves as olfactory rebels and welcome their customers to the "future of fragrance".
In association with Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, Xyrena presents the first and only official JAWS fragrance in celebration of the film’s 50th anniversary. Created by Killian Wells, JAWS plunges you straight into the shark-infested Atlantic waters off Amity Island during peak tourist season. It opens like a peaceful New England summer day: salty sea air and aquatic fresh citrus at the surface, then drifts deeper into heart notes of sugar kelp and warm mineralic beach sand. But danger lurks below—a tenacious base of briny saltwater, aged driftwood, bloody metallic ambergris and a feral “Great White” musk. JAWS is an aromatic aquatic fragrance that launched in 2025. With top notes of sea notes and citrus; middle notes of sand, seaweed and sugar; and base notes of sea water, ambergris, driftwood and musk. It is an extrait de parfum.

Xyrena: "Very bright sugary citrus opening with contrasting sea notes, as it dries you start to get that dry earthy sand note along with a unique but interesting metallic note. All of that is finished off with some very nice musks. Definitely has that OG Acqua Di Gio DNA, but the sand and metallic notes really give it a unique twist. I highly recommend picking up a bottle!"
