Xyrena is a compound of two terms - XY (the male and female chromosomes) and RENA (from the Latin word renascor which means "to be renewed or reborn). It also means “enchanter” in Old Greek. The company is certified 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They refer to themselves as olfactory rebels and welcome their customers to the "future of fragrance".
This is the first and only fragrance to officially pay homage to the iconic pop culture icon introduced by W. Jay Freezer in 1976 and the recent inspiration behind Troye Sivan's hit song of the same name. Xyrena has taken the hedonistic cherry-almond aroma reminiscent of isobutyl nitrite and expertly blended a seductive scent that exudes lust, verve and euphoria. RUSH® features top notes of juicy mandarin and fresh basil; middle notes of rosewood, spicy clove, jasmine, geranium and a sweet and sharp RUSH accord; and base notes of Iso E Super, red cedar, smoky guaiac wood and rich musk. Xyrena: I went in thinking ok nice gimmick, must own. But I am pleasantly surprised how good this is. Even the next day I can still smell it on me. Beautifully crafted and balanced. Highly recommend.
Fragrantica: First wearing. So this is an interesting fragrance. It does not really smell like anything else I own. I don't remember what the original RUSH smelled like, that was 30 years ago. I remember it smelling a lot more chemical. This is actually really pleasant. I don't really smell any of the notes listed. I think it's a little metallic, if anything, or maybe a little like gasoline, but not like the iris in Fahrenheit. I am going to wear this the next couple of days to really get a feel for it. But after the first wearing, it's good, and different, in a good way,
